FBI ACCOUNTABILITY: ZERO
___Boston Bombing...Pick A Story

From the first moments after the Boston Bombing, the public has been besieged with official accounts, often rendered through news leaks, whose profound inconsistencies have never been ironed out.(For more on that, see previous WhoWhatWhy stories, including this, this, this, and this.)

OUR INVISIBLE REVOLUTION
___Chris Hedges

“Did you ever ask yourself how it happens that government and capitalism continue to exist in spite of all the evil and trouble they are causing in the world?”

Revolution usually erupts over events that would, in normal circumstances, be considered meaningless or minor acts of injustice by the state. But once the tinder of revolt has piled up, as it has in the United States, an insignificant spark easily ignites popular rebellion.

Our shift to corporate totalitarianism, like the shift to all forms of totalitarianism, is incremental. Barack Obama cannot defy corporate power any more than George W. Bush or Bill Clinton could. Because Clinton and Obama, and their Democratic Party, understand the destructive roles they played and are playing, they must be seen as far more cynical and far more complicit in the ruination of the country.

Democratic politicians speak in the familiar “I-feel-your-pain” language of the liberal class while allowing corporations to strip us of personal wealth and power. They are effective masks for corporate power.

By the time ruling elites are openly defied, there has already been a nearly total loss of faith in the ideas—in our case free market capitalism and globalization—that sustain the structures of the ruling elites. And once enough people get it, a process that can take years,“the slow, quiet, and peaceful social evolution becomes quick, militant, and violent,” as Berkman wrote.“Evolution becomes revolution.”

This is where we are headed.

Family of Secrets

“Gore Vidal called Baker’s book about the Bush Dynasty and America’s invisible government one of the most important books of the past ten years. In Family of Secrets Baker asks the obvious, but unanswered question, how can “such a clan occupy the presidency or vice presidency of the US for 20 of the past 28 years” with yet another Bush, Jeb Bush waiting in the wings. Family of Secrets reads and was conceived as a detective story, based on more than 500 interviews and thousands of documents, backed up by more than a 1000 footnotes. And even though the book uncovers a secret political life for all Bushes it is much more than a family expose. In this interview Russ Baker describes the powers behind the scenes, with examples from the CIA, oil and banking, and how these institutions are created by, and make use of people like the Bush family.”

Anal rape is now legal when the perpetrators are cops.

If you are still waiting for some distant bright line to be crossed before you acknowledge that America is devolving into a police state, maybe the incident described in the piece linked below will qualify.

Sadly, most Americans will resist that realization until they are personally victimized. Even worse, when a few citizens do begin to stand up for their rights, that “dissident” behavior will be cited as evidence by government enforcers that the police state must expand its powers even more to control the emerging “threat.” Even worse than that, many Americans will passively accept such lies.

Here's a thought....sound familiar?

"When the feds recruit useful idiots to participate, here is what they DON'T tell them:'I'm a federal contractor with a secret clearance working as a surveillance role player on a counterintelligence operation commonly known as gang stalking. We want you to assist us with psychologically terrorizing this person as part of a secret illegal unconstitutional operation involving tactics such as those used by the original FBI Cointelpro operations and the CIA's MK Ultra program and the communist Stasi.'

Instead, they can just flash a badge and tell them there is an "investigation" and they want them to assist (as good citizens)- and to not say anything - and that if they DO say anything, they could potentially be charged with interfering with a federal investigation."

True, but in those days you didnt have the internet.
Which I guess is the only reason you can find any info on organized stalking at all.
__________

There may not have been the internet but apparently, "in those days", there WERE far more courageous and justice-seeking individuals.....who risked their lives to reveal illegal, torturous, and unconstitutional activities by the US government and their whores.

One would think that with the internet, it would be a lot easier (with hackers, and all) to uncover and disclose information of the kind of activity that STILL continues today.

If information about the original Cointelpro was being disseminated amongst activists and those being terrorized by the FBI under the edict of the cross-dressing, fascist J. Edgar Hoover, you can pretty well bet that the continued Cointelpro 2.0 is a well-known "secret".

It will take more courageous, justice-seeking individuals to step-up and finally, do the right thing. Only this time, the "break in" will be on the internet.

22-Year-Old Jailed For Pot Dies In Jail While Pleas For Help Are Ignored

...Once Michael’s mother filed a request for video footage of her son’s death though, jail officials engaged in an intentional cover-up. First, officials denied the existence of any footage. When his mother discovered that this wasn’t true, officials edited out incriminating portions of the video.

The full video, which confirms much of what inmate witnesses told investigators in interviews last year, is finally available.

Saffioti's mother, who has filed suit against the county for $10 million, is unfortunately not alone. Over the past three years, eight inmates have died in Snohomish County Jail.

Just four months after Michael's death, Washington state legalized recreational marijuana.

THE "OPT-OUT-OF-GOVERNMENT-CO NTROL" CHALLENGE

.....that community can only develop if its potential participants actually opt out of political control in ways great and small. That means embracing not just new technology, but old-fashioned scofflawry—what Herbert Spencer once described as “the right to ignore the state.”

In 1884, the control-freak-tweaking philosopher wrote,“we cannot choose but admit the right of the citizen to adopt a condition of voluntary outlawry. If every man has freedom to do all that he wills, provided he infringes not the equal freedom of any other man, then he is free to drop connection with the state—to relinquish its protection, and to refuse paying toward its support.”

Now that so much of the state's “protection” consists of no-knock raids, phone taps, cops boldly going where only the best of friends (if anybody) ought to go, and the gentle cupping of your crotch at the airport, a choice to “relinquish its protection” seems like a mighty fine idea to many of us.

There's not yet a “thanks anyway, but go to hell” checkbox on the 1040 form, though maybe that'll come along in a year or two, but we can opt out on our own. Srinivasan specifically name-checks Bitcoin, 3D printing, telepresence, and other technologies as methods for escaping government control without the state's consent. But those are just tools. The real key is the willingness to live life as you please, without treading on your neighbors' rights and without knuckling under to authoritarian laws or majority preferences.

This is a land of bootlegging, weed-smoking, defiance of gun control, shrinking tax compliance, and even underground restaurants.

Given some cool new technology, I have no doubt we're up to the challenge.

"WHY DID YOU DO IT?"
___New Documentary Exposing Stasi Spies

During the Cold War, Alexander Radler was allegedly one of many East Germans spying for the Stasi, the communist state's feared secret police. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 and the Stasi destroyed its files, many of those spies slipped away into the obscurity of new lives. Radler became a priest and moved to Sweden.

Now, almost a quarter century later, sophisticated new computer technology is allowing Germans to reconstruct the destroyed Stasi archives – and to reveal the former spies still among them. "Being Radler," a forthcoming short film, tells the story of Radler's three lives: first as a spy, then as a priest hiding his past and, now, as a man exposed to the world.

REPORT:
Obama Administration Has Gone To Unprecedented Lengths To Thwart Journalists

"...after speaking to 30 veteran Washington journalists to prepare a Committee to Protect Journalists report, Downie said he was persuaded that concerns about lack of government transparency are legitimate. Those interviewed, he wrote,“could not remember any precedent” to the Obama administration’s aggressive crackdown on leaks and efforts to control information.

For 32 years, the Committee to Protect Journalists has been better known for investigating press freedom under authoritarian governments, or where journalists are killed with impunity or in war zones. But this spring’s revelations about the Justice Department secretly seizing phone records at The Associated Press and obtaining a Fox News reporter’s email account have increased concerns closer to home."

REVOLUTIONARIES IN OUR MIDST
___Chris Hedges

After having made a plea agreement, he faces the possibility of a 10-year sentence for hacking into the Texas-based private security firm Strategic Forecasting Inc., or Stratfor, which does work for the Homeland Security Department, the Marine Corps, the Defense Intelligence Agency and numerous corporations including Dow Chemical and Raytheon.

Hammond turned the pilfered information over to the website WikiLeaks and Rolling Stone and other publications:

<The 3 million email exchanges, once made public, exposed the private security firm’s infiltration, monitoring and surveillance of protesters and dissidents, especially in the Occupy movement, on behalf of corporations and the national security state. And, perhaps most important, the information provided chilling evidence that anti-terrorism laws are being routinely used by the federal government to criminalize nonviolent, democratic dissent and falsely link dissidents to international terrorist organizations.>
Hammond sought no financial gain. He got none.

Freedom of the press and legal protection for those who expose government abuses and lies have been obliterated by the corporate state. The resulting self-exile of investigative journalists such as Glenn Greenwald, Jacob Appelbaum and Laura Poitras, along with the indictment of Barrett Brown, illustrate this. All acts of resistance—including nonviolent protest—have been conflated by the corporate state with terrorism. The mainstream, commercial press has been emasculated through the Obama administration’s repeated use of the Espionage Act to charge and sentence traditional whistle-blowers.

A Few Quotes By The Great H.L. Mencken:

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
H. L. Mencken

The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.
H. L. Mencken

The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule.
H. L. Mencken

If a politician found he had cannibals among his constituents, he would promise them missionaries for dinner.
H. L. Mencken

It doesn't take a majority to make a rebellion; it takes only a few determined leaders and a sound cause.
H. L. Mencken

Puritanism. The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.

STATE-SPONSORED GANG STALKING
___Fortean Times

“Strange Tales of Homeland Security” is a bizarre—but 100% true—first person journalistic account of government harassment taken to the nth degree. This article covers a great deal in a relatively short space: Homeland Security agents run amok in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, the use of electromagnetic nonlethal weapons to torture homeless people, drug users and ex-prisoners…”

Guffey’s article describes in detail how a former U.S. military service member who stole some equipment (the night-vision goggles featured on the magazine cover) and some classified information from the U.S. military and went AWOL has been relentlessly stalked by undercover operatives and tortured using psychological operations tactics and electronic weapons.

In other words, instead of holding a legal military trial in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), the feds decided to inflict a secret extra-judicial punishment on the suspect and turn him into sort of a long-term secret medical experiment using intense psychological operations methods.

Be Careful What You Ask For

In 2010 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security introduced a national program advising Americans:“If You See Something, Say Something.”

Not everyone responded exactly the way the government had hoped.
