A very good article that generated two additional rentals. Also, a few people have expressed an interest in working to save the park. A graduation party was held at the park today. The family is from Charleroi and could not understand why more people do not rent the park. The park will survive if the area will support the park.

Didn't a family commit suicide in a house near the park? Also, I was told that one of them hung themselves in the park itself. Decades ago, mind you. I've been hearing from a lot of people that that's the reason no one will rent it out ... I'm not being ignorant, I just want to know if it's true. I recently visited that park with someone (didn't know it was off limits to non-renters) I recently moved here and I do have to say the locals carry on about how it's haunted. I've also heard that cult members do their rituals in the woods behind the park ... I find it very odd.

FACILITIES....real restrooms, playground type things for the kids, need more than a soso ballfield as an attraction..you have the room for fairley large events but depending on the use people want shade or electrical hook up or showers etc..and advertise, once you get to dunlevy or california no one knows about it.........and yes a nearby resident did hang himself in his home.

The old pavilion that someone supposedly hung themselves in was torn down years ago. It was a rumor to keep people off of the private property up there. Kids would go drink and spray paint things and destroy the property up there and someone decided to hang a fake noose and start a rumor to keep people away bc their family also lived close to the property. As far as the comment above, Thats a poor excuse to not come visit the park. They have had great events and fireworks shows over the past few years. It is a great park that alot of people dont even know is there. Maybe with a little more advertising we can get some bigger crowds up there and get some better use out of the park! Would love to help advertise or volunteer some time to help get it going again.I know personally that ALOT of good people spent many years and alot of money to rebuild the park. Their dedication has not gone unnoticed in the community! Thanks

A person may have hung themselves in their own home which was close to the park. But it did not happen in the pavilion. That pavilion was torn down and rebuilt anyways
