I think the shooting on copper mine road was unjustified, in the woods, no bystandards. When you start talking about someone firing a rifle inside an apartment complex, its a whole different story. I'd have probably shot him too.

I think firing a rifle outside of town limits is legal last I checked and I believe that pulling a SP cruiser in so the daSHCAM is pointing so we couldn't see what happened is illiegal and what the little boy cops did,, per what Chief Carpenter Martin did was illiegal and so were the orders gave to the SP by the Chief was just wrong!

I don't belive that the state police take direct orders from town cops, and I don't think the law states how a cruiser MUST be parked at a scene, and legal outside of town is probably overridden by the fact that there is multiple families living in that complex and if he didn't drop the gun to talk to the cops he probably wasn't in a state of mind to be firing a weapon in a residential area. Cops arn't my favorite people, trust me, but I don't feel Gene Martin enjoyed having one of his towns citizens gunned down, but it is there JOB to protect, and in this case they were attemting to protect the people around the scene, obviusly someone was concerned for their safty enough to call the police in the forst place.

Sorry that I said you were a cop but if you believe what was said to internal affairs then your a fool!

Darren was and is an easy man to get along with and is easily controlable unlike Martin said tom the VT SP.

Darren's death was totally unessisary and was murder!!!!!!!!!!

He was a nut!! If is family cared soooo much about him then why didn't they have some prfesional help for him. He had already fired several shot off in his apartment prior to the police ariving and set fire to his apartment.

If I were there and someone pointed a rifle at me and that person refused to put it down when ordered to, I would have no choice but to defend myself!!

If you were not at the scene that night no one except the police and some of the tenants know what happened. No one wanted Darren to end up like this. Maybe all those people that pass judgement should wear a unform for a while and she just what it is like. Then you may understand.

You know cops don't alway's have an easy job. And protecting people is one of them. sO IF SOME NUT STARTS SHOOTING HIS GUN IN AN APPARTMENT OF COURSE THERE WILL BE SOME BAD OUT COME FROM IT. fOR ONE THING WHAT IF THERE HAD BEEN A COUPLE LIVING UP STAIRS FROM DARREN AND HAD A LITTLE CHILD AND DARREN SHTO THROUGH THE CEILING AND KILLED OR INJURED THE CHILD. tHEN PEOPLE WOULD LOOK AT DARREN AS A MUDERER RIGHT. WELL THIS IS SOME WHAT THE SAME. HE WAS FIRING A GUN NEAR OTHER APPARTMENTS AND SHOOTING AT THE COPS. THEY WARNED HIM TO PUT THE GUN DOWN. HE DIDN'T LISTEN SO THE COPS FELT THREATENED AND DEFFENDED THEMSELVE'S. NOW BECAUSE IT WAS A COPS THAT SHOT IN SELF DEFFENSE PEOPLE QUESTION IT AND SAY IT WAS MURDER. WELL WHAT IF IT WAS YOU. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THAT CASE.

They kill a guy and the house is half burned yet the details of the story are withheld from the papers. How many shots does it take to kill a man? How about the area behind the man they shot? Do the bullets just stop in mid air? Glad I wasn't a farmer walking through the field when that happened!!
Kinda like the time they chased the kid down Fairground rd. The kid was able to out run and hide from the cops. Yet if I remember the quote correctly they said "officer so and so looked both ways before crossing rt5"! Yeah and then hitting the embankment and crashing into a guys house! I hear this wasn't the first time the "professional" law enforcer wrecked a car. My friends live in the house next door to the one the cop drove into. I'm glad I wasn't leaving their house when the cop looked both ways and safely crashed into the house!
I lived on Main st and there was a guy near me who played loud music and yelled 24 hours a day. I watched the final confrontation of our "professionals" as they snuck around his house and waited 45 minutes as the man yelled at his girlfriend. Finally they came out of the bushes and screamed profanities at the man, threatening to take him to jail if he didn't shut up. If they were professional, they would have went to his door and calmly told him to be quiet as the whole street was listening.
I do have respect for Gene Martin, the local officer, who does a great job looking out for the interest of the community!

This shooting was uncalled for and if the cops really cared the cops would have called in another cop trained in handling these situations where as these 2 cops just shot and asked questions later.
There are alot of people that know the truth and Darren did nothing wrong enough to be murdered.
All the cops needed to do was call in a negotiator!
As far as Darren shooting it as just as legal as a hunter shooting a deer in that field as there is a hill in the direction where he shot so it was totally safe!!!!!!!!!

Hey moron.....Darren's death is tragic but....he was firing a gun of in the house where OTHER persons lived and set the house on FIRE! The police had been to the residence earlier in the day and spoken to him. That night Darren, after SETTING THE HOUSE ON FIRE and FIRING THE RIFLE IN THE HOUSE WHERE OTHER PEOPLE LIVED exited the house and pointed a rifle at police!!! What do you think a police officer is going to do with a gun pointed at them??? Throw roses? Maybe you should place some of the blame on his family for not helping him sooner.

So name throwing is one of your attributes as well as making up lies about what really happened I see! Also you say his family is the blame and he is the blame but the police acted the right way after being at the house at least twice after Darren shot his gun across the field that by the way had a hill for a backstop and he only had a few bullets and told Darren to put the gun away then that Chief went to the SP Barracks in Bradford and told them he couldn't control Darren at which time they sent the 2 SP down and asked for his rifle and when he triied to take the rifle out to them they gunned him down like an rabid DOG and btw they were the same gunmen that killed Fortuneti the year before in the back. As far as I am concerned those two SP gunmen will die the same way they kill by a gun (live by the sword die by the sword) BTW why didn't the SP or that poor excuse of a chief call in a negotiator so that the ending of this unfortunate situation have a good ending?
If you are the poor excuse of law enforcement in that area wy didn't you call a negotiator seeings you seem to know so much about this situation? You seem to want to be known as a fly on the wall for telling so many lies about this case. Everything you have said is wrong so get your facts straight ok buddy! I believe you are just sreading lies as you don't want people to know the truth!!!!!!! You also need to know there are nieghbors and others that know the truth in that area, I know as I talked to them!!!!!!!

I was just wondering. We are related to a Police Officer by the name of Mem Martin who used to live on the River Rd. in Piermont, New Hampshire. Is the Officer Martin that everyone referring to his son? Mem was such a good person too. I can't believe that anyone related to him would be involved in something bad.

Please answer. I need to now.
