I am looking to move near the college. Can someone tell me if this is one of Newburgh's worst streets? If it is which streets are better.

North miller has become the worst area in newburgh, at one time, lander street closer to broadway. Believe the city is cleaning house. Give it some more years and newburgh will be the way it use to be. The best place to live at this point and time, up by 9w and further. Be aware, the city is making some serious changes. That includes crack heaven NORTH MILLER.

Ok... I lived in the city of Newburgh from age 2-14. We moved out in 90 because of the way it was heading. I lived at 102 Renwick st and also 9 Liberty st (Flats). When I lived there We could sit outside on our front step without a single problem. It started to get worse as the years went on. We slept on the floor because of gunshots firing through the air. While gettting of the school but we watching a man lay dying on the corner of Liberty & South William because he was stabbed in the back and his lungs were punctured (ALL OF THIS IN THE LATE 80'S EARLY NINETYS). Kids beating people up in gangs of 3-5 because they werent taught to control their anger issues, then to boot they were trashy enough to all gang up on a mentally challenged kid.. Dont you dare tell me how stereotypical that is... i Lived it... The only thing is my Parents got us out of there beofre it got worse, and it did... Have the stuff that happens down there you dont and wont read about in the Time Herald record. Newburgh needs to be saved.

you moved out on 90 that was sixteen years ago surely you would know that newburgh has made great strides since that era but you would only like to comment on only the negative things in newburgh i bet if i knew your neighborhood i could point out a lot of negative things also.so as i go keep your stereotypical comments to yourself because you dont know jack about newburgh

the only way you would say north miller st was a crack haven is you must have had a couple of trips there yourself.

We have MT st mary church and college we have orange county and boces colleges we have newburgh library we have homes valued more here than anywhere on the other side of 9w.Karpels musuem, front street, gullys, boat launch, the list goes on and on so you have no knowledge of newburgh at all except for the places that you frequent.

In between the 6 places that you mentioned there is nothing but drugs, thugs, and prostitutes and the suposed upper class that frequent them. You have McCraine that was driving a city owned vehicle when she had an accident DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED, but thats ok, they covered that up for her. Everything is covered up. Everyone claims how great Newburgh is, Anything worth ME FREQUENTING would be the river front and thats about it and only to watch the river during the day time. I wouldnt dare walk, let alone get out of my car anywhere else. Many people in positions that should be for well known reasons. Every other house is condemned because the landlord and TENANTS dont take care of anything. Don't tell me about Newburgh I was born and raised there. It will NEVER be what it used to be.

I used to live near North Miller, and got the hell outta Dodge a few years ago. Newburgh is a third world city in many ways. It's so dysfunctional, at this point, I doubt it can be fixed. All this stuff about the city being on the rebound is a bunch of hooey. Outside of the waterfront, which is totally isolated from the rest of the city, there hasn't been a lick of progress in decades. It's in its own time warp.

Im a landlord and I have spent about $90,000 so far in the renovation of my building. While there remains a high number of delapidated buildings concentrated in certain areas you shouldnt make these blanket statements. My family members also live in New Windsor, but to me thats about a boring as anything. My neighborhood is safe and quiet and I have great neighbors. The goal is to get all of Newburgh like this but with all the negativity, especially from people who dont live there or fight for it, its a bit difficult
