I have always been big into fitness. I like to work out and eat right. My guy had gained about 35 pounds in the past year or so. I am still attracted to him. I love him immensely. But the truth is, 35 pounds turns into 50 and 50 into 100 and then it's high blood pressure and so on and so forth. How do I tell him in a nice way that he needs to get it in check now while we are young? I've tried a few things but he is pretty sensitive. I joined a gym for us but he is too afraid people will make fun of him there.

I'd say hurt his feelings so he'll leave your superficial ass.

Yeah you are right! It's very superficial to want someone you love and care about to be healthy!

This is why this tri-state is so obese. You are probably sitting on your couch poppin' Cheetos as you type/text.

It's not superficial hunny and I'm not worried he would ever leave me. I'm confident in that. Just trying to find a way to tell him without hurting his feelings. Thanks for your input. Ill be sure and remember it when I am alive and sippin' tea on a porch swing at 90 holding my husbands healthy husband's hand:)

I love it. You post a legitimate thread on Topix and STILL get a low-life to post.

Don't worry about that. People post on here just to get a rise out of people.

I say make the workout fun. Try going on dates that are high in activity. Skiing, ice-skating, rollerblading, bike rides, etc.

Leave his fat ass! If ur pretty and have a nice body find somebody who has the same qualities! Why should u work to be fit and have a good body for ur mate! And him be the opposite. Pretty soon he will be 300lbs and people wil think ur a gold digger! But its ur life! Be miserable with him if u choose!

Beach body offers a lot of different ways to get in shape for the both of you. P90x sounds like the way to go but insanity is awesome also. And both of them are done in the privacy of your home. If he is scared of the gym this is a good way to go and it works.

wow, at any size in my life ive always been beautiful. I turn heads, men stare make comments
on my exotic beauty .(even staring with their woman) your right, obesity is always been a problem for americans. I chose weight loss surgery for a better me though im still considered obese with my hour glass shape.( im striving to lose more) in all reality, ive seen fit ppl drop dead of heart attacks, the ones that are lean, run daily. genectics of everyone are so different, some predisposed to many health problems obese or fit thanks to genectics. maybe your hub is stressed , pressure on his job , daily life, etc. I would be honest with him an say, "hon, you have gained weight an im concerned". you should approach him just like you typed a thread on here. god forbid he read topix ..good luck! hope all works out.

I have worked hard on my body. I had to drop 80 lbs to get where I am.

He is pushing 300 now.
Even before we got married I have always had an opportunity to be with muscular well fit men. However, I fell in love with my husband for more than his physical appearance. No plans to leave. Just wish he would get healthy. For our future kids, and for our future lives.

Also, I can say this seeing as this is an anonymous screen name: he doesn't make enough for me to be a gold digger. I make the money.

I do agree though. You should work to have a good body for your mate. I do it for him too. I would hate to think he wasn't ever attracted to me for some reason. I never want to "let myself go."

I can actually see that going over well. I'm not sure it would be aggressive enough to make him go out and pick up a dumbbell but its worth a try.

Good advice. We downloaded p90x when we had an apartment but didn't want to wake the neighbors seeing as we were on the top floor. Now that we own a home I can busy those out. I've seen people have great results.

Aaah it's not his diet. He eats what I eat. Lean meats, very little saturated fats...etc. I'm very interested in nutrition, I've taken several upper level college courses on nutrition and with my own weight loss I have to cook heathy. His problem is quantity. Eats 4x as much as me.

Oh he gets plenty of those believe it or not.(fast and convenient for two working/busy people) But I'm digging the reward idea!

Bingo, found the problem.

What real man wants to eat that crap the rest of his life?

I bet his side piece is feeding him fried chicken and cheddar mashed potatoes every night...

Funny. We have no real problems. I know he has no "side piece."

Thanks for being a douche though.

Clearly you know little of caloric expenditure. If you consume 4x more than your wife, even if its lean and healthy, you will still tend to gain weight if you aren't getting rid of the calories you intake. Doesn't mean he's getting anything "on the side."
