It appears the NH Topix is fading away. I personally found it entertaining and interesting. There certainly is plenty to talk about. Anyone out there interested in saving this fading project or reviving it? I vote yes !

We can only hope. Everyone should watch this story about Topix.com on 20/20. You can be identified, you are not anonymous and you can be held accountable.

Thank you Mr. Elkins for finding this article. I hope the people who have slandered and defamed you, the Council people and any one else are being investigated as we speak. As we know there have been MANY posts that have given names and addresses and have slandered, defamed and humiliated those people and the people who have made these posts should be held accountable & brought down.

Common sense will tell you not to slander ANYONE!! We have our right to speak our mind about how our trusted council members have STOLEN OUR TAX DOLLARS!! Trevor, you would be pissed too. I don't appreciate that you are trying to keep us from talking about this.

Yes - we have plenty to discuss!! Drug dealing on my street (the cops don't care) they're paid off from the body shop; Hood rats crawling through the village; if our 'elected officials' will be transparent from now on?...

The body shop on E. 54th is in Cleveland not Newburgh Heights. You should contact the 4th district police department since that is the district you live in. Just an FYI

No - I live in NEWBURGH HTS, the body shop is on the corner of Harvard & E. 54 St. Cleveland doesn't start until you pass E. 55 on Harvard Ave.
I never see Cleveland cops hanging out there, just Newburgh's finest!

Rebecca, I've tried to respond to you a couple of times but for some reason it keeps getting removed. Bottom line, I'm not trying to stop anyone from discussing village issues. Certainly not someone with common sense like yourself. You have always been a supporter of mine and I hope we continue that way as we work through issues in the village. But, having said that there is not a whole lot of common sense on this site. I've been scrutinized, reviewed and investigated by more agencies probably than anyone in the history of this Village. Never once have I been accused of wrong doing and in fact my work has received good grades. During this most recent investigation, because I was treasurer at the time, I was investigated too and once again, proved to have done nothing wrong. So yes, common sense would tell people not to slander but I am continuously slandered on this site. So I am not suggesting people should not discuss issues just that people that are going to post slander on here can be held accountable.

Regarding the body shop, remember I was your neighbor for 5 years, I am aware of the clientele. Please call my cell phone on that issue but I do not believe our officers are on the take.

Topix dying, maybe but I do feel people need to communicate without the slandering, meanness and the nastiness. You can have a dialogue without the bad words and name calling and accusing. And that would be called a conversation. I feel if you talk to people like that (bad wise) and you don't know them, then how do you speak to your family or friends? Don't you want to be spoken to like an adult?

I have a hard time reading all this nasty things people say and some does not make any sense.

If you can't something nice - why say anything at all.....

I guess there is no freedom of speech. So all the nasty names you called Mr. Rohal did you slander his name? For the most part everything on this site came out to be true and I really do believe you knew what was going on with Jose aka Best friend but its to hard to prove it. So let us speak are mind on the issues we have in the village without you threating us with this article you found on 20/20

I read what the Mayor posted. He did not say you cannot speak your mind. He was just pointing out that people should be careful what is posted because you are not anonymous on the internet. You can be tracked and if what you are accusing someone of is not factual you can be held for slander. Your statement that you think Mayor knew about Jose is an opinion and is fine but is just an opinion. The proffesionals that are paid to research this stuff do not agree with you. To accusse him of doing something illegal is something totally diferent because by the definition could be considered slander. Instead of hating on the Mayor maybe you should look around and see everything that is getting accomplished so quickly or accept that by providing you the warning from 20/20 he is actually trying to help you before you do something that could get you in trouble.

I don't recall saying they created it. The sweepstakes places didn't help either. But come on you live in Berea, give me a break. Apparently it's OK to be rude and obnoxious to the actual residents here. Last time I checked the police department to 26th were decent at least. Oh well was only a matter of time before it took over Newburgh too.
