Nope. It's still closed form Ft. Loudon to St. Thomas. To reach Chambersburg, you'd have to go through Mercersburg and Greencastle to Rt. 11 or I-81. I don't need to go to Chambersburg that bad. LOL

I would believe it, about the 20 ft drifts. Roads are totally impassible in the Mercersburg area. PENNDOT says they don't know when they will be able to plow. So much for working and earning a living for my family this week!

Just got back in. Rt. 75 from Fannettsburg to Mercersburg is passable, but there's a one-lane section about half a mile south of the Sportsman's club. That spot, on top of being narrow, has a low visibility due to blowing snow. There's a lot of drifting, but sensible speeds and paying attention will get you through. Leaving your headlights on makes it easier to see you coming when in that spot. The road crews are doing an amazing job with the conditions they are working against. Most of the roads are clean to the pavement except for a few trouble spots of drifting.

I saw the crews working to try to open that road when I was headed down 75 past JBMS. They had a big land-mover up front followed by a regular snow plow/salt spreader. It wasn't for lack of trying that 416 isn't open. Too much wind for even their best efforts. Hope they can get it open for you soon.

I think it's time to get the snow fence out, RT 416 and Rt 16 are always drifted shut, while I do understand using it now will not help, but why did they stop putting them up?
