I got the call here in the east end of town and was very thankful for the information, but my daughter living within the borough limits in the west end did not get the call. I wonder why?

I bet the strawberries are all smashed due to the hail storms. I hope not though - we love our strawberries!

I'm so thankful we got our phone alert. We do not have cable television and were unaware of the incoming storm. Thank you!

The phone call came 90 minutes after we'd first seen the tornado warning on television and fifteen minutes after the worst part of the storm (just hail and the high winds, fortunately) had passed.

This warning was not useful due to the lack of timeliness.

We received the phone call just as it was getting dark and we live in the borough of Chambersburg. We had already seen it on the tv, but thankful that we got the call. It was a reassuring note that we should seek shelter.

The alert system from Franklin County to the residents alerting a possile tornado was invaluable & gratefully received. Kudos to the National Weather Service & the Franklin County DEpartment of Ermergency Services. Keep up the good work!!!!

Not sure why this comment board for the "Emergency Phone calling " is going under "strawberries ready"? But I wanted to comment on the phone call,
what a great service! I actually thought the Fire Company would sound their sirens to warn us. I was outside when my phone call came mowing. But luckily I saw it on TV when I went in the house to get a drink ant turned on the TV to see what the dark skys are from, then I saw the TV warnings on the news and then immediatelly went back out to tie things down. Never saw my message until this morning when I went to use the phone. But it is a wonderful service!

I thought it was excellent that we had received a call. Due to the fact that some news stations where not exactly sure of what was going to happen in the area.
Nice idea- bad timing

The phone call is a wonderful idea. Unfortunately, I was one of the people that didn't get the phone call until 35 minutes AFTER the storm came through. I'm sure as time goes on this program will improve.

I assume they did these calls in Alphabetical order, as my last name starts with a W.

I live between St. Thomas and the west side of Chambersburg.

At 6:30PM last night, I got their call advising me that rotational winds indicating a tornado will be passing through the areas of Mercersburg at 5:40PM, St. Thomas at about 5:55 PM, etc.

Getting a call like this, I REALLY DO appreciate - and this kind of notiifications system is really needed in our area for major storms, including blizzards.

BUT, the call needs to get to a resident BEFORE a projected storm is to strike, NOT almost 1 hour AFTER.

Hopefully, you at Franklin County Emergency Prepardness read this post.

Thanks for the new system - but please 'fine tune' it a bit so we get some ADVANCE notice so we can make the necessary preparations.
