Officers Shot In Newton County

Two officers have been shot in Newton County. It happened at Parker Road and Highway 36.

I know Ron White says 'You can't cure stupid', but here goes.
I personally know the shooter and his family.
Officers were called when he threatened to kill himself. He had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse.
He shot at the officers, hit two and then killed himself.
That's the short version.
Now, if you have any sense at all, you will understand that.
This event has nearly destroyed the life of his mother and his siblings. It has been very traumatic for the families of the officers shot.
Please try to have a little compassion all the way around.

Thank you for speaking up for all involved, which one happens to be the youngest sibling, my son, who lives there with his father and the mother of all the other siblings. Yes, these are good people, not perfect, but good. The deputies wanted to "Love" my son's brother through it, so the article stated. I have never been more touched, by a response that came from a deputy, their hearts were in the right place. There is a lot of pain in all their hearts right now, so I hope others can find something, good and kind to offer, like maybe a prayer for love and healing to the parents, siblings, the deputies and their families also.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Remarks which are not compassionate toward the family and friends of this young man are uncalled for.
Please accept my condolences and hope that in your terrible loss, you may be able to help someone else in the same circumstances.
My grandson was extremely hurt and upset that this young man's brother (his friend) and all concerned had to suffer so much.
I will have you in my thoughts for a long time.

You know my son is a police officer in your county and to think that he would protect someone with your attitude and evident education makes me sick to my stomach. We just buried an officer here who was shot by a "BLACK BROTHA" and left a wife and two children. Oh by the way at least he killed the brotha too! I know that God says we are all to love one another, but when we have someone with your attitude it is hard to love you, but I will forgive you and pray that you will have a changed heart because someday it might be you on the other end of the gun and my son be the one to save your life!
