If I am correct the yellow/blue hats are supervisor and or lead people with white hats being hourly employees. The 1st thing I would ask you is define the term messing with before i comment futher.

im a white hat working there and me and a yellow hat are talking..and well i heard if a yellow or blue hat date a white hat they could get in trouble. and well this guy im talking to is a great guy and i dont want him getting into trouble

I know what your talking about. and yes you can get in trouble by human resources if the blue/yellow hat you are talking to is your supervisor. if you seriously like him then request to transfor to another department so there is not a conflict. they look down on it because of the other employees might think that you are being treated different because of the relationship.

well,everyone knows about me and him now,so im switching departments,he wants to give his yellow hat up for me,so i dont got to switch departments but i dont really like my job anyways,but thanks for all the help..
