A recession is impossible. After all Dub-Ya himself said "we are not in a recession", and what Dub-Ya says is gospel.

McCain just told the biggest lie of his campaign, McCain told voters he was going to Washington and would not leave or campaign until legislation on bailout was finished.

Well bailout legislation is not finished and McCain is going to the debate. McCain is the biggest liar in a Presidential camapaign.

McCains lies and schizophrenic decisions.

I hope Congress crucifies the 1% that abused the system. But lessen the loss on those of us trying to do the right thing.

I suspect that boat has sailed. Refuse to bail out the crooked lenders, they raze the economy. Give them the $700bn, you are also divesting debt [they are credit firms after all], which is all we manufacture here anymore. The economic gears grind a great long while and then sieze. In the meantime what of all that capital that will be needed after all this is past? Spent on the bailout and slowly, partially recovered or ground down trying to keep this country treading water after economic collapse.

Dive right in or 'dip your toes', we're screwed either way.
