What happened to Gerald West? You said his brother Kenny is running a news stand on 125th Street. I think there were 4 West brother - Gerald, Kenny and 2 more - cann't remeber their names. The West Brothers ran the heroin on 116th Street and Morningside during the 1970s. Gerald was real smart and they were organized. My brother, Tank and I were there almost everyday. Thank God I made it to NA and recovery for the past 30 years. My brother Tank died in 1992. What do you know about the West brothers?. Also, do you remeber Kenny Sledger, drug dealer closeby on 114th Street and 8th Ave who was killed in the 1970s. Also, Mingo, a Spanish drug dealer on 114th Street was killed too. Some say he was killed by Kenny Sledger or vice versar.. Hope all the West brothers made it out alive. The 1970s Harlem Heroin epidemic was an tragic error. Many died and were incarcerated and never reached or tasted their God given potential. Also, I remeber Claw. Peace. Roger Red from Jamaica, Queens.

Also came out with 1/4 oz pkgs of herion replacing the bindles. The family moved out of Harlem an resided across frrom Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx. Jimmy used to purchased his Pimp Mobiles in Detroit and have them customized in Detroit then hit the streets. He was in trouble for money and did a heroin deal with and undercover NYCPD Det. assigned to the New York Joint Task Force in the early 1970,s. the case was CT-70-0001, how do I know the above I assigned to the case. I also worked the Lucas case the American Gangster, Ms. Bumpy Johnson, in her book got it right Mr. Lucas, was,t what Hollywood protrated him as. Now Jimmy Terrell, is the one a book and movie should be made of he was the real deal. Any one rember JOAN MORELAND aka Queen Bee, she delt kilo amounts of Heroin in Harlem in the 1960,s her mentor was an old timer named POP BRANCH, POP did have of his life about 40 yrs in the can and never ratted out his Italian heroin suppliers he was well respected by the top herion traffickers on 116th Str. Gold Fingers body was found along side the NYS thruway in Yonkers, N.Y. Well so much for Heroin Harlem History.
Old timer,

Your information is a little off, there were two undercover Detectives involved in the buy on Jimmy. You have the case # correct,, but the location you give for the buy is also incorrect.

It's been a great couple of years. I have met some great peeps, learned a lot about the history of Harlem. Met some swell thugs and would have missed a wake of an old friend if not for this site. I thank you all. Wish you all the best life has to offer. But the old Driver has taken ill. I know I will see many of you on the other side. Be well to all. It's been a blast. Vruuuum!!

Son as I lay here in my bed I don't like calling people wrong, but one of my fondest memories was looking in Nat't window on the corner of 111th and X boulevard. There was a coinarama restarant on 112th. We use to sneek out, supposedly going to church and use our change to eat. I'm out of 111th. I was just looking at it on street views. Google Street views now online. Or better yet find an old timer that lived in the vacinity back in the pre steven foster days if you can find one. Or anyone in their teens in 1967. Peace Randy. My man. See, this is what TopIx was for. Us talking about the village of Harlem, not telling who is doing this and ghat. Thats not interesting to me. Holla back It may give me another year or so. Now folks talking bout snitching is the way to go. Please. Did you see that a couple of comments back ?
