The only evidence with regard to Pete Townshend was that he accessed a website in an anti-child porn search. The police proved that, but access alone tarnished his name. Woody Allen’s case didn’t have enough information to go to trial, as it was just the say-so of Mia Farrow who has her own problems.

for all intents and purposes i believe that a public accusation is pretty much being charged. not having had to deal with cops and courts in my life i am not familiar with the jargon so i apologize for mistaking the actual procedure. people who deal with police on an everyday basis were quick to point that out .
