Is this just a matter of the member not knowing who to contact? It looks like when she finally reached the right person, they quickly resolved the problem.

This is an unfortunate, but common problem. Consumer driven reimbursement plans can be done smoothly and much easier. There are several companies out there that do a good job. They include a visa style reimbursement card with first dollar reimbursement for items like this and the process is automatic.

Talk to Acclaris or both work with companies and insurance carriers. Nothing has to change (agents, plans, everything can stay the same)

Jill: I went to customer service, I went to the broker, I spoke with supervisors, I spoke with the supervisor's supervisor. I spoke with anyone who would listen to me. Everyone at Carefirst that I spoke with knew nothing of the problem. I have documented a minimum of a dozen phone calls that "Ma'am you really have not met your deductible". When they saw that I had met my deductible, finally, everyone there stated they had no idea how to fix it. I should just start over. Easier said then done!

Jill--You are being smug! Apparently you are not following the progress of this case. It is not resolved! Ms. Nobles has even been threatened with cancellation of her coverage by a Care First employee if Sharon made any more waves. This person would not give Ms. Nobles her name and hung up on her. HOW NICE! With any luck, you will always enjoy uninterrupted service from your medical insurance providers, but the percentages are not on your side! Try having a suicidal child who goes bad on the weekend with coverage being denied! Ms. Nobles has enough problems without people like you making such uninformed comments!
