It's good to see this manager issue resolved. Does anybody know who the roadmaster is now? The manager had held that position in the past , will that be a separate hiring, will Alan Ault stay on, or is Kevin Null also roadmaster? The article missed this position, I was thinking the manager replacement might cost more than any past solution if we still need to pay for a new roadmaster in addendum to the $65,000-$68,000 the new manager costs. I had hoped Frank was correct when he said we could get a manager for less than $60,000 (that was his problem with Scott 4 weeks ago), C'est la vie, we move on... thankfully.

Let's hope Kevin Null is a great new manager! And let's hope for a great 2010. Thanks for your efforts supervisors!

Congratulations to the board of supervisors. It sounds as though there is unity (even though I'm sure there remains ome differences personally) in the board to move the township forward from the unfortunate incidenet with the previous appointment fiasco. Regardless of what "side" you were on,let's try to remember the past is the past, and let's give the opportunity for the board and new manager to prove themselves over the next year. If we truly care about the township, we need to move on, regardless if the past actions were right or wrong. Good luck the new manager.

Yep!! WMT got change--SHORT CHANGED---

Ha! the past is past get real, the future is always based on the past..I bet when the resumee gets found this dude does not even have the experience of the old Andy and they pay him $14,000.00 more??? Sounds to me like they hired a policeman, banker with 2 pensions.

And the world wonders where the jobs are?
Yep,keep giving them to people that have retired 2-3 times before with pensions and then he does not even live in WMT ,yep no taxes to get from him.

The past will never forget what Marc,Frank and Nils did to the TWSP and at interim costs
of $?????????At least $36,495.00 and counting just since Jan 1st.

And then they pay this new guy $39.50/hour with bennies plus if you throw in this years pension + 4.95/hr=$44.45/hour.Starting to make the old rate of $46.50/hour sound justified . OH lets take out the local taxes (less wage and property taxes)-$2.49/hr==$44.01/hr.OOP s they are paying the new guy more than the Interim Scott.

Now how will they sell that to the residents or does Marc,Frank and Nils think no-one will notice.

Oh !!yea !! lets move on and forget the runcus the 3 supvr. did to the twsp.
Its a Fairy Tale.
Election time can not happen soon enough.

I do feel we were short changed. I don't think many of us will forget what Marc, Frank and Nils have done.
Frank wanted someone cheaper, that didnt happen. Nils, well none of us really know. I think he mentioned Muncipal and administrative experience, well we didnt get that either unless have a masters qualifies you for all adminitrative jobs.
Marc, we all know what he thinks. Corruption. His time will come and the honeymoon will end. One day he will have to make a decision for the twp that is not popular and he legally wont be able to explain his reasonings. Then his followers will question him as he has done to others. Hopefully they will be more fair than he has been.

I don't agree with the supers decisions. But thats the way it is.

Wow.. sounds like you are going by what you hear from the outside world. No way were you at the meeting because your facts are incorrect. You might want to inquire about the facts of Mr Null's past before you comment. Get the facts! This has to be DR! He wasn't at the meeting and his posts usually come from Newville.

Post 5 is filled with errors, but it does have that Jeopardy question feel of "what are, things Darrell would say". Darrell is really bitter about losing to the new guys, but hopefully he can move on after he meets the new manager next week. This really is about moving on and not getting stuck in the past.

WOW - what are you on? You sound quite bitter and angry, why? It's okay to make an argument, but can you back any of your "assumptions" (which are weak at best)with facts? What makes you think the new guy is a retired professional? And if he is, so what? And so what if he doesn't pay taxes to the Township? Will the township go broke for not receiving $340 in earned income tax? If you want real estate taxes from the manager, then the township should have a residency clause. Can you explain how living in the township makes you a better employee? Based on your theory, we should only live in the municpality in which we work...the closer we are to our work the better the job we will do - really? The manager is hired to do the job, let him do it for our sake - please. And what's your problem with the new guy's salary, you were okay with it when it was Barnhart - or is that the problem, Barhart isn't getting the salary? Are you more interested in WHO the manager is than what is best for the township? It does not sound for a minute you are concerned with the township. For you sake, I hope your blood pressure came back down to where it should be.

Yes, we need to move on. It's what is best for the TOWNSHIP. Not what is best for INDIVIDUALS. Do you think DR will show up next Thursday to meet the Manager? We will wait and see!

I think it is incumbent on the media to determine the number of candidates interviewed for the job of township supervisor. The media should also have the option to interview a few of these candidates for verification that they had applied and had the necessary qualification as well as and experience. I am sure West Manheim Township have correspondences on file indicating who these candidates are as this is a part of any hiring process. There is a persistent level of nepotism practiced at West Manheim Township and there is need for transparency as is required or any public office.

Respectfully,

Juwan Harris

I noticed that nothing was mentioned in this article about the 50% hike in sewer service effective May 2010 and the supervisors response to residents’ complaints.

The fact is that West Manheim only uses 10-15% of Penn Township sewer capacity; however, when there is any expansion in Penn Township, West Manheim foots the entire bill. The sewer bills in Penn Township are significantly cheaper than in West Manheim Township by almost the same percentage that West Manheim residents have been increased.

It is unreasonable for any utility authority to increase billing by 50%, especially in this economic crisis. Several residents have indicated their frustration and that that they had enough of with West Manheim and intent sell and leave the township.
