Senseless! Too many idiot thugs flourishing in our dumbed down society. I hope they get theirs in the hereafter for desecrating other people's final resting places.

I can not think of a punishment severe enough for this type of crime.

1. find the culprits. 10 years prison minimum.
(we need to increase the penalties for damaging cemeteries)

2. since they're probably minors, FILE CLAIMS AGAINST THEIR PARENT'S PROPERTY. If the insurance claims don't pay the entire bill...
3. assign an administrator to track the culprits FOR LIFE and file liens against any and all property that they ever own or inherit.

I would gladly track the culprits for life and I would do it for free.

Whatever happened to sleepovers and skating parties? Now kids want to be unruly and ruin other peoples stuff. This is ridiculous people. Parents, you need to be held responsible for your children. I hope we find out who they are and the parents get charged along with the kids. After all, their lack of parental skills is what is allowing children to do this.
I agree. Nobody wants to take responsibility for their kids' actions anymore. They want to HAVE them, but they don't want to RAISE them. Sorry, folks -- until your kids are 18, you can and SHOULD be held responsible for the actions of your kids. Seems like it would stop a whole lot of crime if parents were fined and thrown in jail along with their kids.

<quoted text>Very good idea, except don't include the parents in the mix. If you make the brats responsible for it and them alone, then maybe they will learn a lesson. Parents can teach and teach their kids, but they will still follow peer pressure. Make the brats own up to their actions alone, without mommy and daddy .
I see what you're getting at, but I think parents need to be held responsible for the actions of their kids. In no way would that be letting the kids off the hook -- they AND their parents BOTH should be fined and jailed.

Plus, they should take care of the cemetery grounds for life, without payment.

Although I am a troll on this forum. I do believe that this is very wrong and a shows a lack of respect for the remembrance of other's loved ones. Now back to outrageous responses and stupid off topic statements.

The rules of law today do not allow one to raise kids as in the past...try to paddle your child, try to scold your child in public, have a teacher try to punish a child in school...you have broken the law. The Nuns I knew would pick up the slack that the parents couldn't or didn't. Every teen has done something or has known someone who has done something stupid and wrong, but would second think the deed knowing that their parents would kill them...now they know they can't and the schools tell the kids to Not let the parents correct them as days of old.
