They're "deciding" whether to charge him? Evidence must be iffy, at best at this point. However, he has been tried & convicted in the media. What if it was another adult? Mom? The media should be ashamed of themselves

I will take this opportunity to speak for everyone when I say don't hate the playa, hate the game. Tylar made a mistake, so don't be critisizing unless your perfect. Remember, when you point your finger there are three pointing back at you.

Is anyone else troubled by the fact that this poor child suffered for almost 4 days while the rest of the family watched him deteriorate before their eyes yet did nothing? Not excusing the actions of the step father, but if the child had gotten medical attention sooner, this may be a case of child abuse rather than murder.

Remember, when you point your finger there are three pointing back at you. I should hope you are not talking for everyone and I know you are not speaking for me. I don't know your situation but your post is written as if you are a beaten woman. Something like "oh it was a mistake, he said he'd never do it again". "this time it's gonna be different" I didn't read mistake in the article I read words like toddler, murder, broken clavicle 6 months ago and again 1 month ago. Assuming it were a simple mistake (Which I totally disagree with) why do this child's injuries date back several months. You learn from mistakes and don't do them again when they have such grave consequencies. This man may have a book full of excuses but the truth of the matter is that he acts like an animal and should be treated like one. If he reforms in prison we can then allow him out into society.

I try not to draw conclusions on anything but the facts as presented in the article. But this sure sounds like a mess. Not married, 4 kids between them and not much of a place to live at 18 and 22 years old. WOW

When I was little my Mom took me to the doctor for far fewer and much less severe symptoms than what that boy had. Negligence all around.

sad story. Sad that a little boy died because of this loser, sad that no one noticed or tried to stop the abuse, and sad that he's only going to go to prison...there are alot better ways to punish this guy. I'm thinking a baseball bat

I am sickened that this mother, if she is any type of decent mother at all, didn't do anything to stop her baby from being abused. Don't tell me she didn't know...any mother, any decent mother, would know. I am sickened that this trash couldn't keep her legs shut and has had what appears to be three kids before she is 19 years old. I'm appalled that she would marry someone that would hurt her children. Don't give me this line about how he was probably abusing her and she was scared to leave...any mother who is being abused and whose children are as well who doesn't leave for the sake of her children is a coward. Who pays to support her three kids? Since they apparently don't work and are shuffling between homes for months...we are. And don't even get me started on her loser family...who doesn't take their child to the ER when they scream if they are touched? Who watches them get worse over the next two days and does nothing? She should lose her children completely. Remove them and place them in foster care, NOT WITH EITHER SIDE'S FAMILY. And Mrs. R (troll), you are a psycho.

Mrs R wrote: <quoted text> Remember, I'm speaking for you too, so be careful with your comments as they directly reflect YOU. Never! Once have I thrown a child with such force onto a bed that it "may" have caused injury. If you are suggesting that this/these abuser(s) were so frustrated with a tempermental child that they caused life threatening, ultimately life ending, injuries. And you somehow UNDERSTAND how he/they felt. Then there is something wrong with you as well. Children test adults. It is their duty as children. If you as the adult can not control yourself then you should remove yourself from the situation, or be removed.

Everybody says "Fry the Bastard" unless it's them or someone in their family being accused. I worked in corrections and I can assure justice is available ONLY to the person who can afford it. A Meshbesher vs. a public defender is the difference between a Jaguar and an '85 Chev Impala. Conservatively, 1/3 of all the people in jail are innocent. They just couldn't afford adequate defense. This guy may well be guilty. But, remember, in America you are innocent until PROVEN guilty.

He admitted to shaking and forcibly throwing the child on the bed. If there is any convicting going on here it is coming from his quoted words. And you are correct. MAYBE he did not inflict the life ending injury. If not he's at least guilty of child abuse, per his own words. And we are not the jury so we can convict with as much or little information as we want. MAYBE you're related to this abuser...
