When you say you "met with him"....under what circumstances?

Parent / Teacher Meeting or school related?

Or Other?

If other, why did you meet with him?

AND...what was so "unreal."

AND...You say he "uses his religion"....do you REAL EVIDENCE that he does not believe AND FOLLOW what he professes?

You can't just drop these little birdy-chirps and fly away without being more specific.

AGREE...

Folks like the ones yappin' here are mostly why schools are such terrible places these days (of adults AND kids).

Teachers can't control kids and put the brats in their place because most parents will start screaming about their "child being threatened"...or some other nonsense.

Want PROOF?

Have you ever wondered about those news items you are hearing more and more of the last few years where a school has some 5 year old child arrested by the police?

I know...you think "That's CRAZY.....why one EARTH would they do that????"

Well, it's because there are always a small number of kids out there who for whatever reason, cannot control themselves....they need to be simply grabbed, swatted a couple of times.....and physically held down to get the point.

Well, if a teacher so much a touches a kid in an attempt to control them.....here comes the parents of the little hellion SCREAMING.....

So what do they do? The only thing they CAN do to get control of the child and not protect themselves from the INSANE parents....they call the police.

When I was in elementary school (and this was not too long ago)....there was one kid like this....I remember him well....nice guy....he looked like Howdy Doody (really)....the kid just wouldn't shut up....was not mean or anything....but he'd start clowning around in class....interrupting the teacher with stupid comments just to get everybody going......

Well...one day...the teacher locked him in the little supply closet. And this was just a little 3x3 closet that had shelves FRONT TO BACK....so he had to squeeze in under the last shelf.....basically he was in a 3x3x3 box.

She'd lock him in there....he'd kick the door a couple of times....she'd tell him to quit...and keep on teaching.

He'd quite down and eventually, she'd say...."Are you gonna behave now"....he's sheepishly say "....okay....." and she'd let him out.

He'd schlep back to his seat and be quite after that.

A few days later....he couldn't help himself and he'd start again...Into the closet he'd go.....

Eventually he straightened up. WHY?

Because that's what he NEEDED. The poor kid NEEDED to learn how to control himself.

WHAT IF A TEACHER DID THAT TODAY?

All you pathetic YAPPING parents are a sad lot.

You all make me sick.

I agree 100%
BUT, not agreeing that the TNT teacher was "in the right".
After several observations, teachers are having a harder time with students. Mostly in Claiborne's middle schools. You can't say ANYTHING to a child that is misbehaving without a parent demanding to know WHY you disciplined them or why you threatened to send them to the office.
I don't understand it. Albeit, I realize that a child's perspective is a little blown up/more sensitive than ours, but that shouldn't stop a parent from at least swatting them a little.
I watched a few teachers fuss at two or three students because they were hitting each other and screaming and running... etc.
They just continued to do it, and once the teacher had written them up and they were sent to the office and their parents were called, it was all over.
That teacher was questioned, and it frustrated me how demanding the parents were about it.
Because one of two things happened:
A. The child 'cried wolf' and only gave half of the story
B. The parents are super protective (understandable, but come on..)
Now, I also understand that some teachers.. Some teachers are a bit absurd.. But you can't base everyone off of one side of the spectrum. Some are fair!
It's very frustrating to hear a parent fussing at a teacher that tried to discipline a child for doing something wrong.
Places have rules... I hate to see some of these kids when they get into college or jobs for that matter..

If this is the same David Hensley that taught grade school in Cumberland, Ky (his homeplace was in Rosehill, VA) in the early 90's...he did indeed have anger issues back then, threatened children, had no patience with children whatsoever, and even called them names. He should not have been teaching back then.

It is the same guy but what gets me is that they arressted him for theft under 500 ( he stole 60 from another teacher's pizza party money) but nothing has been said about him cutting the wires from other teachers smart board which is a federal offence since he was dealing with something that was bought by the state. It has all been hush hush. all he got is that he cannot be on any school property in claiborne county. He is a crazy man.

While this guy was a problem...there are plenty of problem people out there.

What this says most is how BAD Govt schools are that someone like this could just get shuffled around and just keep right on teaching .

It's also VERY telling that what finally got him fired...what caused the Govt School to REALLY get serious......was NOT what he did to the kids....it was when he stole from the Govt School.

David Hensley plead to vandalism of the school property, and cannot teach school here in Claiborne Co. again.
