Which Funeral Home in Henderson would you use?

I want to know which funeral home in Henderson you would use and why?

well, i've always like jenkins-garmon - even tho i'm caucasian. my second choice would be rader. the other is corporate owned...BIG corporate and they don't seem to be as 'personable' as jenkins-garmon or rader.

Rader, Crawford is gone downhill with the big corp and managemnet.

The funeral industry is one big rip off. Go with who is least expensive. It is still ok to price shop, even if you have a loved one who needs services. It won't make you any less of a person!

I will go wherever Pat Murphy is working. He used to be at Crawford, but is now at Rader. He is the absolute best in helping make arrangements, taking care of all the little details, etc. He is also a very caring and compassionate man.

I definitely would not use Crawford if I had it to do over again. Their sound system didn't work well. Then the tape they recorded of the service was blank. Needless to say, it was a disaster that can never be corrected and a huge disappointment for the family.

I was going to use Rader but I have changed my mind I will pay the higher price at Crawford and have bought my policy. I am not to impressed with some of the staff at Rader.

There is no comparison, Rader is head and shoulders above Crawford's now. Talk to anyone who has used Crawford's in the last few months. I can't imagine who you would be talking about at Rader's. All the people there are as professional as could be. The Rader family runs a first class operation.

Actually I haven't given this much thought, but with parents in their mid 80s, I probably should. Years ago we used Crawford for my dad, but I know things have changed there.....They (mom and inlaws) probably still think Crawford is the only place though.

i agree that rader is defn better than crawford's now. i love the crawford family and mean no disrespect when i chose NOT to use that funeral home but they did sell to a large corporation. they have nothing to do with that operation now. i didn't know pat murphy was in henderson now. i thought he'd moved to livingston?

HA! I looked at their website and yes Pat is in Henderson. I know he wasn't there a few months back tho. I'll have to go see him!

Having used Crawford and Radar in the last few months I would 100% recommend Radar. The service was a huge disappointment and when that is the last thing you remember of your loved one, it continues to break my heart the way they mess it up!!! Radar is very professional and attends to each and every detail as if it were their own family member.

If Crawfords was so bad, then, ho-hum, they have inherited ALL of Crawfords staff. I DO NOT intend to use Raders since the newest one has been hired. Hey, shop all over Texas, don't have to stay here.

Definately Rader!
Thier service is mmore upscale and most professional, having attended two family funerals there in the past 4 months. Pat Murphy, Peggy Dorsey and Brian truly make the difference!
ALSO, since Crawford has sold, the rumor is they require the funeral to be paid in full up front, or no service. Even if you have Burial Insurance, they will not accept it, leaving you to file the claim, and the insurance pay's you, up to two months later.
I attended a visitation at Crawfords while back, and the AIR CONDITIONER was out!!!!
Better off going with Rader...trust me.

The staff that came from Crawford's BEFORE they sold out are no longer there.

I used Crawfords for my husband. Bryans was not in service at that time.
It was a little over $10,000 and his life insuranse check had to be mailed to them and they took the cut and sent me a check for the difference. I has been 4 yrs. and I stillcan't get a straight answer to why they don't have his marker from the Armed Service. Always so and so will get back with you or some excuse. He served his contry and I had a military burial.. still no answer as to what happened to the marker.
