Two sides of the same coin. I've lost a lot of respect for LEOs over this outlaw biker thing. But if it helps the crippled children, it's OK, I guess.

So, Rubin, what you are saying is that character and integrity matter on and off the job?

I agree.

Too bad politicians are not held to this correct standard. You do think they should be, right?

They should have chosen the song 'War Pigs'. It's more fitting.

Have you considered the increasingly violent people, and gangs, that they deal with? Maybe they should form a knitting club, or bake cookies on their days off? Maybe they should get rid of those scary old uniforms, and wear something cute, with polka dots and ruffles? It would be absolutely awful for them to intimidate any bad guys!

Who gives a sh*t? Cops forming motorcycle gangs seems like the next logical step for their ego. Kind of like "Dog the Bounty Hunter".

Seriously though, this Harley enthusiast proclivity towards trying to pass oneself off as a low-life dirtbag is puzzling. Even more so are the cops, who have to deal with the real thing most every day, want to do so also.

it's lame. it's in bad taste. it seems these guys didn't think it through - or more likely they just don't care. not good either way.

what a joke, the Hells Angels do charity runs too, its a way of trying to look good in the public eye. if you want to do good, work overtime without pay you wannabees. you dont have to be in a club to have a brotherhood and enjoy motorcycling, wannabee an outlaw, what a joke.

It's amazing what a diverse range of motorcyclists the one-percenter / outlaw aesthetic addition to the largely straight White male subjects of this article, you also have lesbian bikers (e.g., the group D*kes on Bikes that rides in many GLBT pride parades) and Black bikers (e.g., the Ghetto Riders and the Wheels of Soul, out east).

What a joke! It has always baffled me why grown ass men think they need a whole GANG to be a biker. Or grown men arguing over patches on a f****** vest!!!

"It would be a fine thing for the world if some of this goodwill could be bottled up at Christmas time and dealt out regulary whereever it was needed during the rest of the year. For instance, I'm sure the motorcycle world could stand some of it:for, even though we boast of our 'good fellowship' spirit, there still seems to be a tendency among a good many motorcyclists to slight the fellow riding another kind of machine. Motorcyclists are all bound together by a brotherhood tie through their love for the sport, and what difference does it make what make of machine he rides as long as he belongs to the clan?" Wannabe a real bada__, join a real club - the Sierra Club. That gang steals more tax money, private property, public access for normal activities, and general screwing of those of unlike mind than any of the MC's. Sierra Club takes pride in shutting down factories and wrecking infrastructure unless its for bicycles, hikers, or canoes. Out of a job factory worker? Thank the Sierra Club (esp. Anderson workers).

Their are HOG (Harley Owners Group) chapters all over the world. They wear vests (colors) with their respective HOG Chapter name on it. So according to the way all you LEMC bashers think, they must be a bunch of wannabee biker gang members also. And if you think the LEMC's are so much like the Hells Angels and alike then the next time you have to call 911 hang the phone up and call an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang and see how they treat you. Maybe those Rotary Clubs are filled with wannabee business gang members. They can meet weekly and scam ways to fatten their wallets. You people should consider getting your heads out of your asses and not listen to some reporters interpertation of an LEMC. He most likely knows nothing about any of the clubs mentioned.

San Francisco's Police Commissioner is a transvestite who owns a sex shop. I'm not crazy about our cops forming a motorcycle group w/an outlaw-like logo, but it could be worse!

Why do all you people who read a few paragraphs of an obviously biased article feel suddenly knowledgable when it comes to LEMC? Did you notice that the author, Mr. Rosario failed to interview anyone in what he refers to a "fringe" organization? Has he ever been to a fundraiser or an event? Does he realize that the cross behind the logo is a maltese cross, and is identified as the symbol of an order of Christian warriors known as the Knights Hospitaller or Knights of Malta. Its design is based on crosses used since the First Crusade. The eight points are said to symbolise the eight points of courage:
Glory and honour
Contempt of death
Helpfulness towards the poor and the sick
Respect for the church

Ignorance of people like him and those commenting on what they dont understand is what "blurs" the lines.
