Don't forget Take 5 in the bottom of the Mall. The ice skating rink was still there at that time.

Perfect day for remembering Marty and Lenny's. Went there on St. Paddy's Day for corned beef and cabbage with my Dad.

Of course, let us not forget "Hollywood East"!! The short-lived disco that replaced "The Rink" which replaced "The Shuttle".....

You people don't think Obama & wife are not racist?

Obama's Charitable Donations for tax year 2007

Among the charitable donations in 2007 was $26,270 to Trinity United Church of Christ, where the incendiary sermons of Obama's former pastor have created problems for the candidate. The Obamas' largest charitable donation was $50,000 to the United Negro College Fund. They also gave $35,000 to CARE. So, to sum it up, approximately 70% of their charitable donations were to causes that exclusively benefit African Americans. We have a hard time seeing this as the actions of a unifier! If Barack chooses to segregate his donations, what is next for America? Again, to quote Michelle, they are on track to use any means necessary to benefit the Black race ONLY! What this means for Whites, Hispanics, Indians or Asians is, don't look for any support from President Obama

I was trying to dance in Georges...or was that stumble..We'd walk into a big Disco Club in NYC, just to observe. Some fairly decadent scenes in those places. We usually danced at concerts like the Grateful Dead.

I saw the Dead in the Village in the late 60's - got to talk to Jerry. That was when Pig Pen was still alive. I think it was the Bitter End Cafe but not 100% sure of that.

The Bitter End? Wow, I saw them in Portchester,'71. It must have been great seeing "Stadium Concert" level bands in small clubs in the '60's. Although I love New Rochelle, I often wonder what life would have been like in NYC- my folks lived at 15 Washington Place. I would have been popping my head in those clubs, listening to the soundchecks!
Moved up in 1960.. my father turned down "the property" as my Mom called it... in Lake Isle, because my Father thought it was the Bronx!

Yes, it was great seeing those bands. The Dead were actually very good. Jerry played 5 feet from our table. We also went to the Cafe A Go-Go, The Back Fence, Cafe Wha?. We were always down in the Village. 30 minute train ride from NR. Lots of good memories for us. Jerry actually came over to our table and asked me out on a date and I quickly and graciously declined.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Libra

Believe it or not, 2010 is almost round the corner. Start thinking about what you want to achieve next year. If that means admitting defeat in some projects that you tried and failed to launch this year, then so be it. Mercury turns today in your house of endings, so confusion from the past may be resolved in coming weeks. Onwards and upwards!
