Why is it so hard for companies, retailers, and American folks to refer to Dec 25 as CHRISTMAS????

Isn't that the day that is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ? Wasn't this nation founded on CHRISTIAN values and that Holiday signed into LAW as the celebration of the BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST?

If you are not a Christian....don't celebrate it, but don't try to eliminated it!

I'm not going to the middle east or should I live there try to stop Ramadan......nor would they put up with it if I did!

Would I be allowed to celebrate CHRISTMAS if I lived there....or what would happen to me?

That’s what used to be so great about the US....you could exercise your freedoms and freely pursue a religion, a belief, etc....but now I see that trend only changing away from traditional American things....like Christmas, being a white person (man), Individual responsibility, American dream of working hard and being successful.....all these things appear to be under attack!

WHY

And by the way, white folks are easily the most tolerant and least racist...look at the big picture of what goes on...why not let the hate and “get the man” attitude go???? I don’t regret being born a white man, nor should I be punished for it…all men are created equal!!!!

WHY

for instance

At the end of a commercial for a large retailer, they say Happy Holidays...why cant they say Merry Christmas??

Are they trying not to offend a potential shopper??? and why should it...this is what the Holiday is....CHRISTMAS!

Easter is also a catholic holiday....but i dont see anyone saying Happy Holiday for that...what gives

Why are demanding that a person or company define the season for your holiday only? There a many religious holidays during this time. Failing to put yours at the top of the list isn't a "War on Christmas". Nobody is telling you what to say or not say, so quit requiring others to specifically identify your holiday of choice. Happy Kwanza.

say what you want.....

its CHRISTMAS TIME, its a CHRISTMAS TREE, its CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, its a CHRISTMAS NATIVITY SCENE, etc

I don't believe I'm the one trying to CHANGE anything....its coots like you and the extreme Liberals trying to change everything into political correctness!

Celebrate Kwanza all you want...but don't take CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I don't see how a company saying happy holidays is a liberal conspiracy. Businesses will advertise any way that makes more money, and alienating certain customers is no way to make money.

You know that the Christmas tree is a holdover from pagan times, right? In fact, the whole holiday is an adaptation of the solstice holiday.

Maybe if you would be more understanding of other religions and customs, more people would be more understanding of yours, but demanding that people wish you a Merry Christmas is absurd.

Who demanded that I bewished merry christmas.

And if in fact, businesses advertise any way that makes more money....why would they not advertise to the majority, rather than trying to not offend the extreme few??? If Christian were like the rest, and have extreme stick together against everyone else....then they would not shop at these businesses that ignore the fact that its CHRISTMAS.....intionally! I believe that for the most part, this is still a Christian nation and their financial numbers would go down, way down.

But no, Christans have to be the tolerant, look the other way people.....if not, then we the enemy!

Just don't take it out...., CELEBRATE OR NOT FOR WHAT IT IS,its CHRISTMAS!

I don't want cinco de mayo to be called "HAPPY MAY 5TH"....

You did.

You could be happy that we are in the holiday season, but instead you're complaining about the way companies advertise to the masses. It's sad.

Nobody is raining on my Christmas! It's mine and I refuse to let anyone ruin it for me. I know what the reason for the season is, it's my Lords birthday. If you are missing out on it because you're a self centered, immature, irresponsible, unappreciative jerk, then that's your problem to deal with! I'm going to celebrate it and rejoice over it. I'm going to be looking forward to the next year!

You and Vigilandy are two lost puppies. Where in the Bible does it say that it is not his Birthday? The north star, the three wise men, the gifts they bare, what about that?

It's not his birthday. Mary was going to a mandatory Roman census when she had Jesus, never in history was a Roman census held in December. They were actually held in the Spring, probably in April. The Romans moved Christmas to December because of Pagan holidays.

Christmas is the CELEBRATION of Christ being BORN....plain and simple. Regardless of anything yo pull out your butts....this is the day set that WE celebrate his BIRTH!

So Vig, riddle me this a$sman.....why is the Gov. of Rhode island trying to change the cities CHRISTMAS TREE lighting event into the HOLIDAY TREE lighting event?

This is exatly what I'm talking about....I don't care if you celebrate whatever you want, just don't take CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS!

It seams that your kind are the ones wanting to CHANGE everything that's not fitting YOUR agenda's and beliefs!

Christmas is Christmas when and where my church decides to celebrate it. I celebrate God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Mary the virgin mother of Jesus and all the holy ones in heaven. That's my choice, I don't try to force it on anyone else and I don't try to stop anyone else from celebrating it. To each his/her own! Don't try to interfere with my beliefs and I won't interfere with yours!

I'm just as Christian as anyone else on this forum. If you don't want someone forcing their religion on you, then why is it ok to force yours on them? I'm just saying that I'm glad that the government does not side with one religion. That's all.

Who cares about the exact linguistics? Accept "Happy Holidays" "Merry Christmas" "Joyous Kwanzaa" "Happy Hanukkah" "Peace be with you" with the graciousness of your own personal beliefs. All "Higher Powers" are the same entity.
