hey i think the livonia police dept is a highly trained group of great deputies if you have a problem with their procedures then drive the frickin speed limit, put your seatbelt on, and all the other laws. Follow them and you won't have a problem and least there is a department in this parish that we can count on to protect us because we all know its not the sheriff's office with their lame excuse for a sheriff. If anyone has anything bad to say about the l.p.d it's because you break the law and you should stay out of livonia anyway.
Livonia is a bunch of Great guys. They (the officers) always obey the law.. even when they break it!?! Is that why they have MILLIONS of dollars in lawsuits against the LPD???? Hope you tax paying, law abiding citizens love spending your money to the victims of the harassed..........

I understand they put there life on the line everyday im not taking that away from them. But there reputation is one of cocky speed trappers..am i wrong? Would it kill them to take it easy sometimes? Smile and give a warning in a minor speeding case. Show some sothern hospitality. Lead through respect not fear. These forums can get out of hand, we all know that...Im sorry if i have offended anyone with my comments. Livonia is a cool, safe, quaint town. I am just voicing my opinon.
Would it only be that simple. They have a new courthouse to FINANCE and process 37,000 cases a year.(Mainly traffic tickets which go on their overtime. Think about it.) Be careful on Middlebelt around 1-96 and Plymouth. If you are over ANY amount over the posted speed limit (40 MPH) it is a ticket. NO WARNINGS for anyone !

targus,

Definitely a case of right city, wrong state! We're in Louisiana...we don't get out much...but we do know we don't have a Middlebelt, Plymouth, or I-96 close by.:)

There is also something else I want to make a comment on. I think of the LPD as heros. I wish I could do half of what this great police force does. They provide a safe place for people to live and give this town a whole lot more than what meets the eye. The LPD is great to the town of Livonia.
I just wish they would arrest that Douche Bag that calls himself reddog! Hes trouble!!!

i think brad is a good cheif.now i do believe that some of his polices are not.they are always looking for speeders when they should be seeing the crime and drugs in their faces, i think that is a very bD OUTLOOK ON LIVONIA WHEN IT IS WELL KNOWN ABOUT THE TICKETS.that makes livonia look predijuce and lazy.cops do more than sit in a hidden place to catch people speeding.it was a damn shame what they did to the students from neqw roads on prom night.i told someone that brad need to know about this.one of the cops threatenwed my neice and she was getting a soft drink he told her to get back in her car and he will be watching her,the child called her mother and was scared as hell.as for brad he is a good choice

If you don't want to have to donate to the Livonia Police Department, then don't speed or break any other laws. You dummies that keep violating the traffic laws are the ones keeping them funded. I'm sure they appreciate your donations.

At times I find myself also thinking in terms of Livonia being a "speed trap"....HOWEVER, let's all not forget the many horrific wrecks that once occurred in Livonia, especially on 190! I would much rather Livonia being thought of as a "speed trap" than a "death trap" any day!

Hwy 190 is much safer now since it's so well patrolled and that is a good thing for our families and friends. Although the "out of towners" especially don't know how dangerous 190 once was in Livonia, I'd rather them call us a "speed trap" now while not having to suffer injuries themselves or injuring others while driving
through Livonia as in the past! ;)
One last thing....the speed limits are plainly marked and plainly visible that you (even me) shouldn't use the term "speed trap" as it's definitely not. The speed limit is enforced which has saved lifes and hopefully this enforcement will continue. The LPD didn't design 190 to be very dangerous when people speed through our town....that situation developed over the years with poor design. It is their job, however, to enforce the speed laws to help make the highway safe. And I for one are glad they're doing their job!

I agree with you that Brad is a good choice. And because of that especially, he would want the mother of the child to come and talk to him if she believes the officer was out of line. I also learned over the years that there is always two sides to every story. So I would suggest the mother be open to that theory when talking with Brad. He takes pride in his force and would not tolerate his officers acting out of line. The other side of that coin is that the mother might gain some knowledge of her child's actions that she might need to address also. It is a win win situation as I see it...rather than brooding over something like this (if the mother feels as you do), then she needs to talk with Brad to try to get to the bottom of what happened. It's either the officer that needs direction from his Chief or a daughter that needs some direction from her mother.

It sounds like the mother hasn't raised cane over that night. Possibly the daughter has already told her what really happened. If that's the case, both the daughter and the mother need to tell the girl's Uncle what really happened so the Uncle will stop spreading rumors.

I am not in Livonia near been and jet I am being harvested and treated by your brad joffrion for a speeding ticket that he himself says was written for a airman in the air force that he admitter to. I have never been in. he has sent 2 cops to walk in my door when I wasn't here, thank god because anyone who just walks into another mans without permission or announcing themselves I shoot first and ask questions latter. he has done this to my 70 year old mother as well. if he does this to an innocent man I feel sorry for anyone in that city. p.s. the ticket was in 2011 warrant issued in 2001. the investigation concluded it was not my ticket but I am forced to pay his extortion scam so I can get a job that he has cost me. if he is a real man he would stop acting like a two bit thug.
