If this is true, it is an outrage!!!
It is worse than the DA doing such an awful job before the grand jury on the dog mauling case.
It may be time to have the state look into what is going on in the DA department in Pointe Coupee.
If you would check your facts you would see that the DA's hands were tied in the dog mauling case due to Louisiana Law. Luckily he work in conjunction with the victim's family and got those laws changed so that if this were to happen in his district again he could prosecute. You people have the DA, Judge, and Sheriff's Office all condemned before they have even had a chance to do their jobs. Don't get me wrong, if we my child in her grave because a person drank and decided to get behind the wheel I would be pushing hard for justice but the fact is these judge's had no choice but to recuse themselves because they personally know the defendant and her family. Give the system a chance to work people and educate yourselves on the laws of this state.

The DA showed up once trying to make it look like he was trying to help, b/c he saw how determined Blaise Landrys family and friends were on getting the bill passed. THE DA'S AND SHERIFFS OFFICE was a big ole joke in that case. I know ALL of the facts in that situation. GOD BLESS YOU LITTLE DARLING BLAISE..........

The DA in charge of the dog mauling case did not do a good job. He did not call witnesses that could have testified as to the viciousness of the animals, such as the Animal Control Officer who picked up the dogs. He did not call other neighbors who could have testified that they had been intimidated by the animals in the past. The charges that the DA needed to bring was negligent homicide, because we all know the owner and the K-9 officer did not intend for Blaise to die, but through their negligence, they were the cause of him dying.

In the case of the drunk driver who killed the young woman, I hope that the case will be moved to another venue if the elected officials recuse themselves because of personal friendship with the family of the drunk driver. The victims family need justice and I hope and pray they get justice for the loss of Terri.

As long as I can keep getting my speeding tickets fixed, I really don't care what else the judge or DA do.

If she is guilty then I hope her conscience is eating her alive right now. As I said before, if my child were in her grave because of something like this I would NEVER stop fighting to make sure she receives justice. There are ways around crooked politicians and civil servants, you just gotta know where to go. Educate yourselves on the law people, it’s the only way to ensure that you are getting a fair shake.

The owner of the dogs that attacked Luna McDaniel in Ville Platte, Louisiana, had his animals in a fenced in yard. The dogs got out while he was away from home and killed the elderly woman. A grand jury found enough evidence to send him to trial. The DA in Pointe Coupee could not find enough evidence to put people on trial who let vicious dogs run free in an unfenced yard and they killed a young child.

I hope that when this DWI case comes before the grand jury, the DA will do a better job presenting the case before the grand jury.

It is hard enough on a family to lose a loved one through someones negligence and carelessness, I hope that the legal system does let them down too.

Your right, her concious needs to be "engaged", apparently she has been a very irresponsible spoiled brat who has a serious disease.
The the disease I a referring to is Alcoholism. Delusion and denial are a part of it but selfishness is the main issue to be addressed. Until her consious gets sobar, as you say, by some guilt and remorse, the denial will remain as will the delusion. So I am also praying that she looks inside and begins to own the fact that her life is out of control and as a result caused another to lose their life. Then and only then will there be a possiblilty of true healing for everyone involved, which is all of us. Only by the Grace of God go I.

That's why we have 4th DWI 30-year-olds. Teh cops do their job then the courts drop the ball. I'm just surprised the death rate fo DWI is not a lot higher. The irony of it is that the lawyers who get DWI people off put their own families at risk.

Heck, you've got some 19 year olds driving around in in this parish with 4 or more DWI arrests to their credit.

D, while you are busy taking up for him, you might consider that while he is out drinking and driving to and from those night clubs trying to rack up his next DWI, he is also out cheating around on you. You seem to be the only one in the parish that doesn't know he's out having sex with other women. Either that or you choose to allow it. You're better than that and don't deserve this.

Wow,the Gosserands' may own half of Pointe Coupee but their morale sucks!! Kill a girl, injure a young man, total your car due to their livestock & you're screwed! I hope that all of their consciences are eating away at all of them! Instead of doing the right thing,in any case, especially concerning the DWI case, they want to use money & power....how pathetic. Maybe that explains why they have such bad luck.....everything that glitters ain't gold sometimes!

If Bud would have put her azz in the slammer for the whole weekend and not shook the whole damn Political system to the core that weekend the Gosserands' might have kept some respect. I bet the Gosserand family feels this way now also. And I would be willing to bet this whole mess has damaged Bud and Jim's relationship. That's what happens when you have someone in charge that doesn't know how to take Charge. Then all the Judges', the DA, and God knows who else wouldn't be running with their tail tucked between their legs!

Read WAFB's website!!! THANK GOD she was indicted. Maybe now some things will start to get back to normal and the victim's family will start to get some sort of closure. Keep pushing and justice will prevail!!!
