She already got out of one DWI because of our flawed justice system, where the police officer said the smell of alcohol from her was so bad he had to lower the windows in his unit.

If society's right to a speedy trial were really followed, maybe she wouldn't have been on the streets killing and injuring people during the holidays.

This girl lives in Natchez now and is "supposed to be in rehab"? It doesn't seem like she's in rehab? She has her own place... Or is that just more of the special treatment because of her grandfather?

This case will be decided by Judge and Jury. The jury will find her guilty because she is guilty. The question is how guilty was she. The jail time and sentencing is decided by judge. She will probably get 10 years and serve 18 months.

The civil side will be interesting. My granpaw has nothing to do with my finances, and her parents really are not that rich. They live comfortable and make a good living. Her insurance coverage will be maxed out at 500k is my guess. VG will be responsible for the monetary resolve for anything that exceeds the insurance coverage.

I have a feeling you may be very close to correct on the outcome. Hopefully Recovery is included in the outcome!

Stevie Gosserand is a girl and the sister to victoria? Boy PC sure raises some fine upstanding citizens. Them elected politicians must make a bundle off of that family. How much you think it takes to sweep this stuff under the table?$100k?. I need to run for DA or Sheriff. I can make a bundle and maybe buy me a lot in grand isle too! When was she arrested?

If this goes to a jury trial, she is sunk. Doesn't she realize that people are not sympathetic to drunk drivers anymore? Just ask the drunk driver who recently went to a jury trial in WBR and got convicted. I hear that he refused the field sobriety and the breath test. The jury still put him away. The folks in Pointe Coupee won't be any different. They are sick and tired of hearing about multiple DWI offenders walking away without a single day in jail and then killing someone on their next DWI.

They must be talking about that Hurdle fella from Rosedale that just had a DWI jury trial. He thought he had some stroke too, but the jury of average people don't buy all those foolish lawyer tricks and slick talking.
