Go to the McDonalds website and complain, complain, complain... and your exactly rite its nothing but lazy. And yes I realize that it's got to be cleaned but dont you think that the optimal time for cleaning is either during start up or after close, instead there are choosing the times when everyone would love to have an ice cream such as when its 85* and lunch time.. Hey Micky Dees Ya losing $$$$$$$$$......

This is a pretty common complaint at McDonald's restaurants around the world. A few Google searches led me to some firsthand accounts from current and former employees. The machine apparently is a real b*tch to clean, so they tend to shut it down early in the evening to allow plenty of time to clean it. If your local McDonald's doesn't feel the need to bother with things such as cleaning, the machine eventually starts to overheat constantly, melting the ice cream, and forcing them to shut it down for awhile so it can cool. Then they have to restart it and wait for the gross, milky liquid to become "ice cream" again.

It takes only 20 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes in an icecream makers to have delicious icecream, its not hard to make and believe me the flavor is so great you will realize that the stuff being sold commercially is not that great.I made fresh strawberry yesterday with fruit from my backyard and it makes gardening a little more important and enjoyable.Try the old recipies first.

Sounds like the minimum wage retards they hire are too lazy to clean the machines. The machines at McDonalds are always "broken". I have never had this problem at Burger King, Wendy's, or any other restaurant. How does McDonald's management not see a problem?
