Just finished a cultural diversity seminar, and was cautioned that the term "disrespect" or "disrespectful" is a subjective term. What is disrespectful to me may not be to you, and so on. Maybe try to be a little more specific?

BTW, also found out in this seminar that Caucasian is not a race. The word Caucasian refers to a person who is from the region of Caucasus, which is in Europe bordering Turkey and Iran. Learned all kinds of stuff that day. It was interesting!

This is America, you can date whomever your heat desires. I think interracial love is a beautiful thing, but here's my advice to those wanting to do it. You better be strong mentally with thick skin. A lot of baggage comes with it. It comes with a lot of family drama and in a small town like New Roads, you're gonna get a lot of looks, hear a lot of whispers, lots of people are going to talk behind your back. If you can handle that, go for it!

i have to disagree dude.i have family members with white women and we embrce her.i see many mixed children and they are treated like everybody else.i dont see love racism in newr roads.everybody just walk along fine.in livonia it is full of interacial couples.if you have to hide to be with a white person these days that is because they dont want to.i have to say some older women go out with white men who are married.so yes they have to hide.now racism exist in other things like jobs,services and look church.it also exist in the schools.but i disagree with relationships

New roads has had interracial relationships since both Africans and Europeans arrived here. Not everyone will condone it no matter where you go. The question is whether you have enough self respect as an interracial couple to carry yourselves as polite and mature enough to make that impression on everyone instead of letting a few ignorant people make an impression on you!
