Parents bought unwanted tandem crypt

I'm interested in suggestions as to how to sell a tandem crypt in Sunland Memorial Park which my parents purchased over 20 years ago. Their health failed and I moved them out of state close to me so I could take care of them. My parents passed away many years ago, but I have been unable to sell their crypt despite significantly discounting the price. Short of giving it away I'm thinking of placing our cats in there when their time comes...just kidding (maybe not).

There are a lot of those for sale. Try the local Sun City newspaper. BTW there is a pet cemetary there also.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm afraid we've tried newspapers and craigslist for an extended period of time without any meaningful offer. The reference to our cats was actually my feeble attempt to make a joke. The cats have a reserved spot in our backyard along with other pets we've adopted through the years, but thanks for the reply. I wonder if anyone had experience with cemetery plot/crypt brokerage firms. Anyone know if they are on the "up and up"?

You could sell it back to the cemetery, they are not going to give you much for it as they intern have to sell it at a profit, most people in the sun cities are from out of state and get buried in their home towns.

Most likely your best bet. Expect 10-25 cents on the dollar.

You could donate it to a church.

Donating it would be the best bet, you could write off what you believe it's worth. Personally I would sell it back to cemetery. That's probably what the church will do. There are also charity organizations for the destitute in Sun City, I'm not sure if they are church run or not, the name slips me at the moment.
