I was in Iraq for 14 months with Bco 1-30INF and it was pure hell on us, we lost 7 brothers alone in our platoon, I grew up in New Richmond and graduated from there as well. I'm the type of person who would help anybody out in any way I could and would never ask for a thing. I got out early March and moved back here from FT. Stewart, GA the Army without any kind of reason or explanation took all of my final pay and when I talked to someone at the VFW from my home town to ask for a little help and that I would gladly pay it back I was told sorry buddy we can't help you, I just couldn't believe there was nothing that could be done, so much for serving my country but still thank you for serving yours and if theres anything I can do for any fellow veteran I can be reached at [e-mail] although I don't excpect any type of response. Sorry to hear they couldnt help you out. I do know this though. The VFW has been experiancing many financial issues and without new members and revenue they could go under. I know Rick Mahan and hes a good guy. If there was anyway he could help I'm sure he would. I beleive he is still the president of the VFW Hall in New Richmond. Thanks for your post.
