Does anyone know where I can sign up for toys for Christmas? I am raising my grandson and even though I work every day, it will be hard to afford anything for him this year. Do charities only help people who don't have a job? Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

If he attends school, the family resource center may help. I would check some local churches.

I know a family in price hill that could use some help too. They have recently lost their jobs due to the place going out of business. They have 2 little boys.

Hi Jessica and Amy...names of organizations and what I can do to qualify would help alot. I wouldn't feel good about taking from a church that I don't attend, that wouldn't quite be fair. I have made contributions to various charities in the past and was hoping one of those could help but I don't really know where to start. Thanks for your replies and Jess, please check your email.

Granny, I worked in a very poor Cinc. Public School and know that most of our families were helped by churches at Christmas. Don't feel bad about not attending one! They should not even ask that question.

You are not alone and not being able to give kids everything they want has nothing to do with your parenting skills. It is a rough year for a lot of people and many will do without. However, there are places that will help but unfortunately it may be limited due to the high number of people that need help this year. The Salvation Army does the "Angels" program. If you get your local number, they more than likely will be able to tell you how to sign the kids up. Also, there are opportunities to volunteer that way while you are being helped with gifts, you can also give back at the same time. It is important that everyone work together to get through this Holiday, God knows we all need help in some form or another.

Hello to everyone!!! If you contact the Mayors office in which ever city you live, they should be able to direct you to different organizations that has toy give aways. And to Monique, keep your head up I to was in the same situation not knowing how I was going to give my kids a happy Christmas, but by the grace of GOD and constant prayer he made a way for me. I know as a mother you want your kids to have all of the things they want but sometimes it may be easier to get them the things that they need rather than want. Just keep your head up and stay focused. God bless you all

granny, amy is correct. churches should be there to help those in need. that is why the Lord came and gave his life: God gave his best, no questions asked, so should local churches. we all need help now and again.

Me and my friends are getting together and going to companies for donations and giving out toys for anyone in need this christmas there really isnt anyone we will turn away it just all depends on how much we are able to raise from walmart, kroger, meijier, and other places so feel free to send me your information at Ajrobbins1285@yahoo.com and i will do my best to make sure noone is left empty handed for christmas!

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Pisces

Mercury's retro phase in Capricorn will raise questions in your mind about a friend or loved one during the next two weeks. You might wonder what they're playing at and have to ask them to be straight with you, or you could work hard at overcoming the current problems between you so you're able to enter a much more positive phase in your relationship.
