New Milford police seek owners of stolen property

It's been said that one man's trash is another man's treasure. But some of the items that have been clogging up the police department's evidence room for the past 18 months probably fall more into the former category than the latter.

Well just cause the NMPD does not know who the things belong to they need to revamp the PD? They do well I feel. GET A LIFE

How are they going to tell? If someone comes in and points to an item and says it is theirs, what proof do they need to produce to prove it is really theirs? If they don't have a clue who the owners are there is no proof is joe shmoe walks in and tries to claim the "floor polisher". How dumb is that.

I am sure that the police will not take you in a room to scout the articles then let you make a claim. YOu go in and make out a report as to what what stolen with its decription, If they have a match you get the item.duh!!!
