I have never gone to this club and maybe never will. But I'm proud that such places exist for those folks who do want to go to them. Just as proud as I am that there are all kinds of places of worship, although I'd expect i'm not going to any of them either. I've never had people gather on my front lawn to have sex BUT have been bothered a lot of times by people wanting to save me from something THEY are scared of. WHAT have these people done in their lives that makes them so afraid? Why do they feel they have answers to questions that no one has even asked them? Go to church pray and do whatever you enjoy. It appears thats what these people in the CLUBS are doing. And I haven't had them knock on my door yet! But if they did, they had better have showered before they got here! Who knows how i'd react to have 2-3-4 lovely ladies knocking on my door asking me to lie back and look up to heaven?

There is nothing wrong with a location that has this lifestyle. It is behind closed doors and the people that frequent these clubs are actually nicer than people in other clubs. If you do not like it stay out.

If that were really the case, then all the religious comments wouldn't be an issue because it is "off topic" as the story had/has nothing to do with religion.

Here’s what I’m getting from this whole argument:

Swingers don’t particularly value sexual
exclusivity with their mates.

Non-swingers find this incomprehensible – or
objectionable. They don’t understand the
premise of a swinger’s relationship.(Or simply, why marry when one can just as easily be companions who simply have sex? Or they wonder if each of the partners is settling for less than they could have if each would hold out for with a more satisfying mate.)

Swingers believe that sex with others outside of a marriage isn’t what the majority would define as cheating. According to at least one swinger, sex with someone other than one’s partner it isn’t “cheating” because the swinger’s mate is aware of his/her mate’s conduct and accepts it.

Non-swingers reject this definition. They equate this with those involved either lacking a moral compass, or having exceedingly low self esteem. Or they see it as a deviancy from culturally accepted norms that safeguard honor, and decency.

As sexual exclusivity in a relationship is what this society deems the norm, the swingers (as minority members of the society) rely on another of America values – individualism – to pursue their interests. For those not involved in this pursuit, but amendable to it, the argument is “I may not agree with your choices, but I’ll defend your right to pursue them” and for those involved, it is “I have a right to pursue happiness even if it not your idea of happiness.”

And for non-swingers, the argument seems to be “Your idea of happiness is like a cancer that will corrupt society, or poses a threat to the accepted status quo.”

There is also the general idea that the woman involved in this little better than a prostitute.
Those for it counter that she is an object of admiration (rather like the geisha in Japan once was.)
Non-swinging women by and large find this objectionable because she is still being used for casual sex.(However, swinging women appear to enjoy the elevated status common to the geisha.)

As for the non-partnered men involved, one admits to finding these clubs a gratifying way to obtain sex without paying for it from a sidewalk princess, or avoiding the emotional ordeals of an affair. It is then cheap anonymous sex.

The male partners, on the other hand, either express a willingness to share their partners based on a recognition that his partner will not or cannot practice monogamy,(which indicates that for whatever reason he can not maintain his partner’s interest) or he wants the safety of a relationship and the freedom of the single life.

And then there’s the whole religion argument… have I missed anything salient?

My hubby and me go to swingers clubs. We go because my honey has developed a little problem. My girlfriends call it hisdixadrupin or hiscoxafloppin or something like that. It’s a terrible thing cause it just doesn’t let him get the job done. But you know he loves me and wants me to be a happy woman. So we go to a club. We sit for a while and make nice with others into the seein. Before long, some guy will come along and ask me if I’d like a Mount and do. Well, I like high balls and cock tails as well as the next woman. But ya know those Mount and do’s are really something special. Truth is, they really move me, more say than a wall-banger or even a screwdriver. Then again, maybe it’s a matter of taste.

BECAUSE..DUH...it is a "Private" club much like the YACHT and the Golf Country club we belong to.....we're a highly educated and very successful couple who visits from the time....we find it very fun and destressing....religion and forced-imposed morality have no place in this analysis...grow up ..would you...

Church isn't as safe as swinger's clubs, I have never heard of anyone being raped at a swinger's club, can't say the same for churches.

A barrister representing clients suing the Anglican church in Adelaide over child sex abuse claims says boys as young as eight were raped and drugged by officials from the church's Adelaide Diocese."
That's a despicable statement. I have never heard of anyone maintaining any sense of dignity at a swinger's club. If you weren't ashamed of what you were doing, you'd do it in front of your children, co-workers, neighbors, family members, friends, and anyone else who cared to watch. And you'd do it in broad daylight. There are no secret passwords, costumes, or paraphernalia required to attend church - only a willing spirit and contrite heart.

Ah, Stacey give Couple a break. She doesn't want to be saved; she's not concerned about her soul; for her and the dude she married, it's all about their physical enjoyment in the here and the now. She also hasn't got a clue that people do have smiles on their faces because they thoroughly enjoy a monogomous marital relationship. To those who do know this state of grace, it seems she is willing to settle because she wants the security of marriage and she's willing to compromise. One day she may wake up and see the web of lies for what it is -- but for now, she's happy being the highly educated Nora Roberts of bullshit.

I've never been to a swingers club, never had the urge to go. I have had the opportunity to cheat on my wife several times. The latest was, with what we thought, to be a friend of ours. She just came right and asked me, well lets keep it civil, to 'bang' her. Whan an opportunity came knocking, instead of cheating I informed my wife and this 'lady' is no longer a friend.
Anyway to get to the point, I am a veteran with a VA disability in wich I claim 90%. I went to Vietnam in February of 1968 and came home in March of 1968 with 3 holes in me. My company comander was captain Madina now you do the research and history to see why I'm half nuts today, a point that I have NEVER divulged to anyone not my mother, my wife, my children not anyone.
Ok, the point is I/we all fought so that you could have the opportunity to seek happiness as you see it or feel it in this case. If going to church makes you happy then have at I'm not one to say how you practice your religion. If you want to 'swing' have at it I am still not the one to condem it. I have friends on both sides of the fence and I feel an equal friendship with both. They don't hide what they are doing, they just don't wear a sign on their back either. Come to think of it, I've seen very few church goes wearing signs on their backs as well. I also have never heard of a swingers group being prosecuted nor sued for molesting children. I wish that I could say the same about churches and ministers. This happens in ALL religions. Just a thought for you to consider before you judge and play GOD.

The National Cancer Institute offers some compelling reasons for women to avoid "swinging."
See this article: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/...
One of their statements is:
"For those who choose to be sexually active, a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner is the strategy most likely to prevent genital HPV infection. However, it is difficult to determine whether a partner who has been sexually active in the past is currently infected.

HPV infection can occur in both male and female genital areas that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in areas that are not covered. Although the degree of protection provided by condoms in preventing HPV infection is unknown, condom use has been associated with a lower rate of cervical cancer."

Of course, for those who could careless about the possibility of developing cancer, there are other considerations. Then again, some people want to die young.
