The Bible was written by men who interpreted what they saw with what they experienced in their lives. For instance, in the culture of biblical times men were considered above woman; therefore, they believed God must be male. People today consider the writings as literal without examining what things must have seemed like in the eyes of those writers. People would like to say the Bible is the word of God, when in fact, it is the word of man trying to understand God.
