Barack had the chance to pick Hillary for VP she had 18 million votes and that wasn't good enough. Obama and the DNC can pander to me all they want with lame excuses. Barack with the EGO doesn't need the likes of "SWEETIES" And he doesn't need my religion, gun clinging friends from the state of Pennsylvania. Go McCain and SARAH.....She shot that puck between the eyes of the DNC.

The stupidity posted above demonstrates the extent to which the deluded GOP faithful will go to avoid any discussion of issues which actually affect people's lives. This avoidance infects the entire party, as can be seen by the outmoded cliches and debunked lies which comprise the speeches.

This is what they are trying to hide:

John McCain supported the Bush/GOP agenda with 95% of his votes.

The GOP platform calls for the complete elimination of abortion rights, expansion of the Bush tax cuts for wealthiest 4% of the population, expansion of corporate tax cuts, expansion of unConstitutional Presidential powers and expansion of the surveillance society that already records our telephone, email, bank, medical records and web surfing habits. McCain/Palin has pledged to appoint the next three Supreme Court Justices to support these goals.

McCain/Palin has pledged more wars, and McCain has come out for restarting the draft to provide cannon fodder for the GOP's "war first!" foreign policy.

McCain/Palin has proposed the destruction of the employer based health insurance system. He will accomplish this by taxing the employer contribution towards employee health insurance as income, destroying state insurance regulation and oversight of health insurance companies, and providing a tax deduction for individual policies which will cover less than half the cost of a private policy. This credit will only be available to those who can afford a years worth of private insurance payments.(currently $1200 a year for a family of 4) Their will be no protection for pre existing conditions and no requirements for the coverage.

McCain/Palin has proclaimed their determination to teach creationism and abstinence only in the schools.

McCain/Palin supports the anti union policies the GOP has pursued, even in the face of declining wages, rising unemployment and soaring bankruptcies. They won't even discuss pension protection in corporate bankruptcies.

Here is a dissection of some of the lies in Palin's speech tonight done by the AP:

Attacks, praise stretch truth

John McCain: Corporations First:
The central plank of his economic plan is a $175 billion corporate tax cut that would slash taxes for the Fortune 200 corporations by $45 billion every year. That includes $6.5 billion for Fortune 200 energy companies,$6.3 billion for Fortune 200 banks and financial institutions, and $5.6 billion for Fortune 200 merchandising and retailing companies. The overwhelming benefits of this tax cut, approximately 59%, would flow to the top 1% of income earners.
