Teen remains critical

NEW MADISON, Ohio -- A 19-year-old man remained in critical condition Monday at an Ohio hospital after allegedly being assaulted south of here by an acquaintance carrying a machete.

Wow, let me see if I have this straight. Kid gets drunk starts BEATING his girlfriend. She screams for help other kid helps out and then gets near bludgened to death and worked over with a machete. The idiot responsible then proceeds to chase people around hitting anyone he can and when that fails to satisfy him he goes to work on parked vehicles. I would say a minimum of 8 years for this one and if attempted murder is brought up (why not since eyewitnesses report the use of a deadly weapon) it will probably be more. Obviously this 22 year old is past anger management and should be locked up for as long as possible. I've read previous posts about getting him help before he ruins his life or someone elses...too late! He needs to be imprisoned and over the course of the next 20 years he can either rot or work to be a better person, who cares now.

What in the world would possess someone to do such a horrible thing? In one newspaper I thought it said a dispute over a woman?? I would assume drugs were probably involved also. How sad.
