This is just another example of a large company that will do whatever it can to avoid spending a little extra money. Of course they also won't let relatives of the employees install safety measures at no cost to them simply because it violates some company protocol. It's going to take someone getting killed and the large lawsuit that follows to get this company's attention. As long as they a little money in the short-run, they don't care or even think about long-term. After reading this, I will never do business with this company and suggest the same to my friends and colleauges.

'I've felt like a sitting duck for a long time," she said. "I've been fighting for some sort of safety for years, since I've been there."
I think if my safety was at issue every day and my employer were ignoring me, I would find a new job or a different line of work instead of blaming my employer for "years".

I worked as Center Manager for Check Into Cash at the Xenia Ohio store in 2005/2006; there is no bullet proof glass, customers can walk right behind the counter, there is a buzzer but you may not be close to it when needed; there was one in a "secure" area that did not even work. These pay day loans want this "open" policy with the customers so they feel more "at Home" not like Check Smart that has full security measures & bullet proof glass for employee protection - at Check into Cash they want us to make the customer feel as close to us as possible (MAKE THEM FEEL LIKE THEY ARE PAYING YOU & NOT A COMPANY SO THEY WILL PAY THEIR LOAN & GET ANOTHER..)- thus, a perfect target for a robber - AT THE EXPENSE OF THE EMPLOYEE'S VERY WELFARE AND LIFE...to get more MONEY & BUSINESS FOR THEM; IT IS UNEXCUSABLE FOR ANY PAY DAY LOAN STORE NOT TO PROTECT THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE THIS CHECK N GO AND CHECK INTO CASH - THE RISK IS FOR THEM TO MAKE MORE MONEY BY MAKING THE REGULAR CUSTOMERS FEEL "COZY"....NOT ETHICAL OR MORAL TO PUT THEIR EMPLOYEES ON THE FRONTLINE AT RISK - FOR THEM TO GET RICHER...

I personally know the Manager in this video. She has always done whatever was ask of her by this company. She gave her all and this is the gratitude she receives in return! Her position along with her
Co-worker, are listed on Career Builder .com. I wonder if they quit? Or were they terminated for going public?

There have been employees of this company killed during robberies. The most recent fatal attack was a 23 year old employee named Mindy Morrell, she was shot and killed on May 21, 2007, at the Check 'N Go where she was a Manager located in Waukegan, Illinois. Mindy's family have filed a lawsuit against this company for their failure to provide proper protection for their beautiful daughter. Check n Go has over 1350 locations across the country and they can definitely afford the proper accommodations for their employees and install equipment for a safer work environment! The company states that they have protection in the stores that are in high crime areas, obviously with the economy in the shape it is right now every location should receive the same protection! I agree with the post above, the company needs to be closed.
Apart from the lawsuit filed by the family of young Mindy Morrell there are also lawsuits currently filed against Check n Go on behalf of the Consumers in various states and Class Action Lawsuits filed in Indiana, and California on behalf of the former and current employees for violations of the
Fair Labor Standards Act. Based on the companies failure to pay overtime by mis classifying their Management to avoid paying overtime along with many other violations which are listed in these filings.

I just read that these employees are on FMLA stemming from complications from the second robbery. How considerate of Check n Go to put their jobs online
"SEARCHING FOR THEIR REPLACEMENTS" instead of just bringing coverage from another location!

WOW.....UNBELIEVABLE

The only security measures this company has for their employees is a panic button and camera. This company only cares about lining their pockets not their employees or customers. I agree that this company should be shut down. It does not suprise me that the employees jobs are posted on the internet. If I were these employees there would be another lawsuit against Check N Go. I wonder what the Davis Brothers are going to do when they don't have a business anymore due to all the lawsuits are currently going on and getting ready to be filed.

this is disgusting, i want those who care to to explain alittle more to me what this is company does. Don't be shy either it is time we stand as one. We need change with these issues, despite what some of you might say or feel maybe it is time those who judge, and don't know circumstances go some where in the woods. If i knew of this earlier i would have been asking more questions. Companys seem to do what they want, when they want, till someone stands up.
Those who are savy know how to reach me.

I want everyone to know that not all companies that deal in payday loans are like this company. Yes I worked for CNG and they are the scum of the earth but now I work for another company that does payday loans and check cashing. The company I work for now has cheaper rates and we don't push the customer to take out their max. We actually care about our customers. We tell them their options and let them make their own decision. I will tell a customer that has overtime and normally does not have the OT that if they take out their max it will drop the next time due to no OT. My customers appreciate the honesty they get from me that they did not get from CNG and the other companies.

I really thank Governor Easley for shutting down all of the check advance joints in North Carolina. Because of CNG unsafe dwellings, it took a life of a beautiful young mother with two young sons. After this happened they figured out a way to fire the manager. Never really liked the way the company worked. If a person chose to borrow money from the company, it actually became a cycle, (monthly debt or a two-week debt) depending on when you were paid. I always thought it was a rip-off. Rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. They didn't care about employees much less customers. Glad they are gone

I'm a store manager at cng and when i fell into debt i used payday loans myself from another payday business and was so greatful that there was a way for someone like me who couldnt get bank loans to have the option to get payday loans. Payday loans are great for a short term loan just remember use loans responsilby. Vote No on Issue 5. We help those in need and more services than just offering loans.

As a former manager and trainer, I only know of a handfull of offices that I visited that had safty glass. Of course these offices had been robbed 3 times before it was installed. Come one people, get a clue, Check n' Go is always looking for was to not spend money. If you are good at what you do and meet all the goals, when your pay is up there they will find a wy to cut you off at the knees. I know, I gave them 8 years. Best wishes from california.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Cancer

With the tender Moon waxing in your sign, you're in a romantic mood. This is great if you're with your beloved, whom you trust implicitly. You can have a wonderful time together and the rest of the world will just melt away. Try to be a little more realistic if you're dealing with money matters because there's a strong chance that someone is trying to manipulate you, or part you from what's rightfully yours. Of course, you'd never do something so devious...
