Never heard of it, but I can't imagine why people from the suburbs wouldn't want to hang out on Lake Ave. when the sun goes down.

I will truly miss it. My wife and I went there to celebrate special occasions in our lives. Food was always great and service was better.

This place has been overpriced since 1992.

I believe they must have gotten their food from Country Sweet, down the street.

Food was not worth the monies paid.

Stopped going there years ago.

I will miss their great food and wonderful service. Beautiful view of the river. Too bad the city keeps changing what happens at high falls. Maybe now that there are people living there, more business will come. Triphammer out lasted all the ventures the city paid for.

another one bites the dust.

the city sucks. damn politicians need to understand that there's no reason to "celebrate" our downtown or come there anymore!

when they get smart and lobby for a casino and or some other attractions like other cities...thats when the people will come. as it stands...downtown sucks!

I will miss it too! Not that the food was amazing, but it was pretty good! I work very close to the Tripp so we'll all be sad to see it go - it's like the ONLY place within walking distance.

Lake Ave., State St., Exchange Blvd., whatever you want to call it. It's all the same road but changes names every few miles for no reason. Regardless of what it's mailing address is, it's closing because no white people in their right mind are going to hang out in that area and spend their money. Mystery solved.

The trip hammer was nice for the ambiemce but the food was very overpriced.......6/10 at best on amount of food but they did the classy presentation. Too bad but the high Falls needs a transition other than to be known as party central. That's why new residential and business complexes are being built.

As fasr as downtown goes.......it has gotten better and the amount of Jazz lovers proved it during the international jazz fest! Other events attracted people too but in an urban environment it is important to push public safety as #1 priority or it won't mean nothing else to develop anything where people are fearful of the neighborhoods around the downtown district! I know I live in one for now but seriously questioning the present city government and trying to find a better job to be able to run out to the suburbs like alot of people I know! sad but when nothing is accomplished on the government side then its time for the citizens to take action!

Let racists post their views, it shows their ignorance, but don't ban them. Let it be a teachable moment.

high falls failed because Rochester already has entertainment districts that people can walk to like the East End. Why drive to a place like high falls when thousands of people can just walk to the East End. High Falls wasn't near any large populations

And coincidentally, High Falls is in a very shady area, with tons of crime just around the corner in any direction you go.

ummm wrong. In one direction you have a giant gorge... In another you have Kodak... not much crime there other than what the executives pull. In another direction you have downtown.. not much crime there. In another direction you have Lake ave, the only area with real crime. So in one direction you have crime and High Falls is well removed from it.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
