YOU SOB's first you do not use the fire alarm to warn people of an emergency, then you want to spend our(taxpayers)money to put up flashing lights to warn people. Why don't you people take the money out of your own pockets? And speedbumps what a joke, what is that going to do, slow the traffic down?Have you tried to go around the square when school lets out?The cars are backed up to the Sub Stop, that would really be a good move.LOL Quit spending our money on worthless projects! You may have an education but you have any commonsence.

Hm, I'm not sure why the New Oxford story link brings us to a different topic title.

I think the biggest problem is this--No amount of safety measures can replace common sense in drivers. Some of these measures will work during non-peak traffic times, but they may be a nuisance during high-traffic times.

This traffic problem around the square can be solved very simply. A very large bulldozer and a few dumptrucks to hawl away the garbage they call a square and we no longer have a problem. What a stupid little town!!

Leave well enough alone! If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it. That money must be burning a hole in someones pocket. Route 30 is a main rout east and west and lots of trucks use it. Speed bumps? Come on now!!!

I travel Rte 30 everyday and have witnessed many near crashes and a few minor crashes over the years. This circle is an abonination and should be removed from a Pa state highway. Hopefully I never have a crash there due to all the obstructions and confusing signs, but if I do, the borough of New Oxford will be the first defendant on my lawsuit.
Thanks again

It's a state road, you would have to sue PennDOT.

This is a stupid plan! Maybe if you'd tell people to stay off the center square, you wouldnt have pedestrians getting struck. Haha speedbumps...really??

We cant even have recycling in New oxford, but we could ahve speedbumps, raised sidewalks (and taxes), and flashing lights. Morons!

I totally agree. Common sense is all we need but from reading some of these postings New Oxford has some challenged residents, that's why the town has to do something to keep people safe.

I know. I think the biggest challenge is to figure out how to keep people aware. There is almost nothing I can think of that would prevent another person from ramming the fountain.

I'd like to see the town eliminate or reduce square parking during rush hour and create parking lot areas around the square behind the buildings. That would be costly as well, but it would improve downtown business and possibly eliminate some of the challenges of getting around the square when it is busy.
