A look at the ebay Discussion Boards reveals post after post from angry, dissatisfied sellers who are leaving ebay to start selling items on other online sites such as Amazon, Bonanza, Ebid and Etsy. The reasons for seller outrage ranges all the way from poor customer service from ebay, 21-day holds placed on paypal funds, the unfair DSR (Detailed Sellers Ratings) system and a number of problems that are rife at ebay. Could this beginning departure snowball into a MASS EXODUS by sellers from ebay?

The 21-day hold that ebay can and does slap on seller's Paypal funds is one reason many are leaving. Some sellers have had to contact their state regulators in the states wherein they reside to get the holds lifted.

Ebay stopped caring about their sellers a long time ago. There's now an unpleasant corporate climate there.

Perhaps we are witnessing the beginning of the decline and fall of ebay as a major player in Internet online selling (Amazon's already been giving them a run for their money).

Ebay is getting a lot of bad press these days in blogs and ecommerce sites all over the net, most of it from disgruntled sellers.

I've gotten so frustrated with ebay that I've gone back to consignnmnt shops and yard sales. My kiddos love to help me put on a yard sale!

Just have to wonder how this new Global Shipping Program that ebay's pushing so hard is going to work out for their sellers. Especially with Pitney-Bowes as the third party "middle man" shipper.

The situation for small sellers at ebay just keeps getting worse and worse. Ebay has put into place policies that are effectively eliminating the small sellers.

Ebay's flawed DSR system is eliminating thousands of small sellers.

That's by design. Ebay is getting rid of the mom and pops and becoming an online overstock liquidation venue for high volume sellers.
