The New Miami Police Chief said "there's a Family Dollar going in here" "Our fire house is here" Notice how he looks to the side when he says, "We just want people to slow down." Classic decepive body langage. It is all about revenue enhancement. Hey Chief, enjoy the short term windfall, but be prepared for the long term boycott.

Yeah. It is really important to curb the danger of people driving 11 miles over the speed limit for a few feet so you'll see to it at $95 a pop. Come on Chief, really, I mean, really. Man, how do you face your kids with that line of bullshit. Are you what you want your kids to be? Is that the level of integrity you want them to uphold? If you were interested in safety, you'd send a warning notice then maintain a record of the offender and fine them if they re-offended. They wouldn't, you know that, so you hit them hard the first time. It is a rip-off. It is theft, yeah, the cops are stealin'. Sad, sad little man. It seems these days, integrity is a foreign concept to police. Yeah, just do what you're told, tell the lies necessary, and get by, and eventually retire. And know at the end of the day, you were a coward that didn't even consider standing up for what was right but just went along to get along, cowards are so common you will blend in fine. Let me tell you, you don't have to be a coward, it is your choice. Being a police officer, once, was an incredibly honorable profession. They served the public. They suffered indignity, they protected, they were public servants. Now cops are just enforcers for corrupt businesses and government.

Maybe we should let Red know that this Gestapo mentality is something he should speak out against, then we'll support him. I've never stopped into Red's, but I will and I'll ask him what he thinks about this and what he plans on doing. Does that sound fair?

Anyone fight one of these yet? Mine is right before the bridge heading towards Hamilton. I sped up to 46 miles per hour approaching the 55 speed limit sign.
The police presence is typically high in New Miami (which in my opinion is good). Because of this I typically never speed.
Boycotting local businesses is not the answer. And not fair to the economy and those that work hard to provide this little town with all these conveniences.

I also received 2 of these citations, i tried to call the number on the back of the citation from morning until night to request a hearing, i couldn't get through all circuits are busy i don't know if everone wants a hearing or they just want us to pay the citation, i also called the accommoditions for persons with disabilities number just to see if it would ring, guess what, it says this number has been disconnected. I then called New Miami Village of Treasurer she said they had nothing to do with it. She gave me the New Miami Police dept.I then called the New Miami Police and had to leave a message .Now whats up with that. Has anybody else been able to get through? I agree i will never go through New Miami again and they lost my business at Couch's, Thorntons, etc

I got two as well..I requested a hearing for the earlier one so based on how that goes I'll either fight the second one or pay it. If anyone has had a hearing about one, how did it go??

I had been enjoying my trips up Route 127 from Cincinnati up to a customer of mine in New Madison OH for a few months, when lo and behold I get a $95 ticket in the mail from this BullS*** camera. Looking at the picture, I'm driving on a clear day, with NO TRAFFIC around, on an open stretch of the RURAL outskirts of New Miami. What 'Danger' was I causing under these completely safe conditions by going 50 MPH?? They say there is a clear sign that notifies drivers of the camera, but I sure DID NOT see one...I wonder where it is hidden???? In my opinion, this self-serving greedy decision by the local 'government' will only give them a Black Eye and cause everyone ticketed to dislike New Miami. A warning first, before ticketing this huge amount, would have shown more class on the part of New Miami, but I guess they're just after the 'Benjamins!!'

I was coming home from taking my daughter for followup surgery for wisdom teeth and thought I would go through New Miamisince I had not been that way out of Hamilton in over a year. Bad idea. My daughter started getting sick from the anesthesia and said, "Just get me home mom." I wasn't intending to speed but wasn't paying attention. Clear day following car in front of me. Speed 47 in 35 heading north on 127. I can't even tell you where it is as I am not familiar with the area. Nevertheless, we barely made it home before she started throwing up. I thought someone would be sympathetic but have no idea who to talk to and wasn't sure if it would help. Your comments are helpful. Therefore, Pay the ticket to who ever is pocketing it and never set foot in New Miami.

Hey Ken and Patty
I hope both of you choke on a turkey bone, you 2 are incredibly smart for the way that you set up these speed traps!!especially the ones going out of town!!You 2 are a big disgrace to everyone in New Miami!!!I hope that everybody totally boycotts the new Family Dollar,Reds burgers,Thortons, used tire store, couchs, and every other business in New Miami.I can guarantee that I will never vote yes for another school, police or fire levy. How does it feel when you have to explain to your kids, that you are unemployed because you stole money from the wonderful people of New Miami
