Bottom line is her kid is starving for attention. She needs to address those issues instead of blaming everyone else.

Why dont you just delete her from your Facebook friends if she's such a pain in the hiney? I would never keep somebody as my Facebook friend if they got on my nerves that bad. I guess it's easier and more fun to complain, huh?
Great point, I just deleted her. Thanks!!

It's a new elementary school that opened this year in Jefferson City.

Isn't it actually in Dandridge? It is on Dumplin Valley Road.

It's the Dandridge community, but I believe the mailing address for East Dumplin Valley is Jafferson City. I'll be glad to call it Dandridge, since most everyone on Dumplin Valley call Dandridge home.
Thanks for the correction.

The reason I thought it is in Dandridge is because I know of the hot negotiations going on between Dandridge City and the County about the shared responsibility of the roads to the new schools.

So it's not actually in Dandridge city limits? Just considered Dandridge community? I think I passed by it this past summer while it was still under construction. Hamblen County could use atleast one new elementary school too. I'm glad you guys could get one.

Thanks for the info. I guess I was confused because of the City of Dandridge being involved in the road issue. Maybe that is only as far as the intersection at Dumplin Valley?

Unfortunately, you don't have that right...call central office or the attorney's in Nashville...they will inform you of this!
Oh, yes I do have that right. If I decide to homeschool I have that right. And I have taken my kid out of one school and moved to another within the county so I know it can be done.

I thought if you were in an IEP you were special needs? If you go out of the classroom for special services like speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy, is that not considered special needs? If Mrs. Hinkle or Mrs. Bailey or whoever helps to teach you, are they not the special education teachers?? If so, then this child is special needs! I think people should check their facts before going on a public forum and blasting not only someone's kid, but the parents as well.
You need to check your facts, my child gets pulled out of class for some extra help and she is FAR from special needs. Just because a child needs extra help in math ect. you should not say the are special needs.

The Principal is Sandra Austin.

Who knows that this year yearbooks are going to be paper/soft bound? Apparently mrs austin thinks that keeping the cost down is better than having a yearbook for keepsake. I'm so torn, I want my kid to have a yearbook but I want a hard bound book, should this have not been a parent vote? This school has only been a disappointment after disappointment, I'm seriously thinking about moving back to jes district.

You've got to be kidding, right? Where is your PTA involvement? Maybe Austin was worried about some of the folks that can't afford a hardback edition. Don't worry,by the time your child reaches graduation, all those keepsakes will be in a box, stowed away in the attic and it won't matter about the binding anyways.

Then go for it! I'm sick and tired of you people letting trivial things (like the outer cover of a yearbook) give you reason to b!tch about this new school. In the grand scheme of things and with all there is to really be concerned about in this world, do you really think the cover of a yearbook is that important? Like the poster above stated, maybe the school wanted to keep the price as low as possible so more kids would have the opportunity to buy one.
