You continuosly report that the tornado ended in Jones Valley. I believe that if you check the special section to Huntsville Times, November 16-21, you will find my sister, Della Mae Broad Buford, who lived on Broad Armstrong, as a casualty. The tornado appeared to cross the mountain from Jones Valley and down into the valley where my sister lived

I was in Germany with my husband who was in the Army stationed there. I had just arrived there 3 weeks before the tornado. We have a home in southwest Decatur, and had just bought a car, still at my mothers and a new roof on our home,so when we got back serving our tour we would set. Well I was listening to the radio, American service station and they broke their country music session and annouced that a grade 5 tornado had hit southwest Huntsville, and may be Redstone involved. I tried calling home, knowing that the tornado had to go over my mothers and go that way. It took 3 days to get thru the lines. She said our roof was the only roof that didn't get torn up with the golf ball size hail, and that our car looked like a sledge hammer had hit it everywhere. I had to come home a month later to inspect our roof and car for insurance. It was a mess. My heart goes to all those lives. The pain from the Tornadoe reached North Germany!

It is good to remember the past. Not only the bad but the good. However, America has passed it's day of strength that when something bad happens it is remembered but not carried around the neck like an Albatross. A 20-year old tornado should be remembered but not relived over and over by the news media. The healing should have begun long ago and the story should be one best discussed on the back porch.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
