This is a message that I have forwarded to my County Commissioner Roger Jones...
I am a native of New Market and when I turned on the news this morning I felt sick at my stomach watching the story of the 19 year old girl that died on Joe Quick. The reason it hit me so hard -about 5 years ago I lost a much loved uncle to an accident in the same spot on this road. His accident was exactly like this one, he clipped a telephone pole taking out the pole and cutting himself and his car in half. I am unsure if it was the exact same pole. Furthermore, I swelled with fear after hearing this story because... I have an 18 year old daughter and a 15 year old son that will be driving on this road. Being a native of this area I know the danger of this area of Joe Quick, as I know you do. I only pray that my awareness and preaching of it leads my children to extreme caution when driving it. The point of my email? When will the county do something about this section of road? Would a gaurd rail prevent deaths? The section of Joe Quick at Billy Harbin has been redesigned and has prevented deaths, can this been done to the remaining section of road that is leading to the deaths in our community? The Sharp family lost one of their own last night, the next accident could be one of yours or mine. Please respond to my concern. ---------- I send my most heart felt, sincere condolences to the Sharp family. Please contact our County Commissioner and let's get something done to fix this area of road. |

Iam so very sorry to hear about the passing of Amy Sharp. She was a good friend, mother, sister and had avery big heart, I know Jesus needed a very special angel to come be with him. And thats why we had to lose such a sweet girl. May she rest in peace forever more in the arms of god.
GOODBYE AMY YOU WILL BE MISSED BY ALL |

Very sad to see someone so young to die in an accident like that, but you read about or actually see it all of the time.People still just do not take the time to belt up.It may not be very comfortable to some people, but the fact of the matter is that "SEAT BELTS DO SAVE LIVES"
