My favorite high school teachers were Mr. Jim Mauk and Mrs. May Edwards Hunter. They are both excellent teachers and I loved being in their classes. Thank you Mr. Mauk and Mrs. Edwards Hunter!!!!

I love this post. Teachers don't get as much respect and appreciation as they should. I enjoyed most of the teachers I had in school. I think they did a fantastic job. Some of the teachers that stick out in my mind are Mrs. Craft, she made learning fun and although I didn't hang on to as much Spanish as I should have, it gets me by down here in Houston.

Mrs. Wagley was wonderful. She always sang "Sarah Smile" whenever she would call on me. Other great teachers that I had were Ms. Sides, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Shy, Ms. Tumble, Mrs. Henry (we didn't always see eye to eye but she is a great music teacher and I have a lot of respect for her), Mr. Steeleman, Ms. Carlisle, Mrs. Porter. There are so many more but those are the ones that really made an impact on me.

teacher was Mr.Holmes. He was strict to a point by not letting you leave his class until he said that class was dismissed. He always corrected me for using double negatives and I catch myself doing the same thing to others today. I can still recite one of the stupid poems that he had us memorize years ago. He received my respect back when I was in school and still does today.

Mrs Dyke was an excellent teacher and really cared for her students. I hate to hear that she has passed away (4-29)There is no telling how many students this woman touched. I hate that I lost touch as many people due.
Good bye Mrs Dyke and and a long over due thanks for a job well done. I am not posting my name not because I am ashamed of how I feel but have seen how people take any names and try to bash or embarrass

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Doris Schuenberg for Business English. She always had a smile and tried to make us feel good about ourselves.

Actually no other teacher in the late 60's and early 70's seemed to care what happened to us.

May Edwards was a good teacher also and I have used many of the things she taught us in raising my family.

Most of our teachers were nice and respectable people but never really connected with me.

At one time - there were several great teachers at Central. Ramsey was THE BEST. She knew her stuff and made you learn it. She was no nonsense, but she cared about all her students. Greenwalt was equally as strict and ran a tight ship. Moore, Schuerenberg, and Sides were all great math teachers. Kindhart and Whatley were good, too. I'll never forget Mrs. Spitler. She was hilarious...always interested in what was going on. Coach Fowler probably cared the most about us. She knew just what to say and how to say it when we were having a bad day. I think all teachers need to be remembered for the role they play in educating and helping to make each student a better, more well-rounded person.
