I was told Noranda was a good place to work, looking for some basic info like starting salary and what type of shifts they work. I am looking for something that works seconds or third shift with decent salary and benefits, preferably union if possible. any info would be great. Thanks

I suspect this is another shit stirrer. If you want to know anything about this place why would you come here? They have a personnel office and the union hall could possibly answer any questions you may have, of course that won't start the shit from flying.

Not stirring any thing up, i live an hours drive away and was inquiring more about the shifts more than the salary. I had heard that it starts in the mid teens per hour which is a good job, but I am also looking for something on Nights WHICH i know is not the norm but it would work best for me . Any info you could provide me with would be appreciated. Thanks,

All I have to say is starting pay is over 20.00 per hr. Do your homework.

As far as I know, the shifts are 12 hours, and most departments do a swing shift. That consists of some days, some nights, with some days off thrown in there. I am not sure if they do any shifts with just nights. The ladies in the HR department there are very nice and can give you the information you need. I enjoyed working there, but it's not made for everybody!:)

it starts over 20, with shift diff pay, like stated above, call the HR and speak with them. Not sure if we are hiring, you never know, but they will give you a dress to mail a res. in, or they will mail you an application. good luck

I work there. They start at the upper teens to mid 20's. There are many shifts. Departmets differ in start and stop times. There is 8 and 12 hour shifts covering the plant 24/7. Hope this helps. And it is a great place to work.

run away, I work there and sometimes wonder why, 75% of the people there are grown cry babies, pay is good job is easy, until you have to work around a titty baby, not all people are bad out there, dont get me wrong, but a few of them are babies

I work there as well. Each department has different pay grades. The potroom starts out at 21.63 a hour, it's 12 hour shifts on swing. It's a decent job with decent benefits, but the work enviorment is less than to be desired. But that's any job you run across. Not sure if they're doing any hiring right now, but never can tell when they will start. Take a resume to the guard shack and drop it off. Good luck, hope this helped

Really, just pick up the phone or drive to the damn place and spiff up a bit first. It's a halfway decent place to work.
