So what is a 14 year old girl doing taking two boys back to her house to consume alcohol?
Of course the boys shouldnt have pushed themselves on her, but nothing good could have come from that situation.
Where are this girls parents during this incident?
And why did it take a year for charge and sentencing?
Seems like more to the story....

sounds like these tow guys each paid thousands in legal defense costs. If any common person with a weak legal defense team did what they did, They would serve a realistic prison sentence. The only thing i don't understand is how the Sex Offender board could have been bought.
Isn't the level three offender in the "unlikely to re-offend" category?

I guess it leaves the Prosecution with a lot to answer for if they do not appeal the Judge's decision.

Money does talk in Westford and there's plenty of it. Regardless of where the 14 year olds parents were, these "college" students should have refused to return to her home. Where are their parents and have they not been taught right from wrong? What about "minors in possession" charges? They were drinking and underage. And I couldn't agree more... they should be registered sex offenders since that IS what they are!
Where are parents

These parents must be proud of their boys. I would give them nothing for their defense. If this was my child, I would ask the judge to put them behind for the 4 years. It would take me 4 years to cool off.
Sexual assult on a 14 year girl. Sorry, you failed in raising your children.
Boys need to respect female. Maybe WA should start a class on respect.

It's always the females fault...
If only she wasn't wearing that "sexy" flannel night gown.
This is the reason they hide the identity of the accuser in these cases.

So you don't have to register as a sex offender if you've sexually assaulted somebody just because it was only once? That is pretty sad.

Good point Josh. Thank you for clarifying that. These two guys should, at the very least, be required to register as a level 1 for the one time they were caught.

Wonder if these boys knew exactly how old the young lady was at the time, hardly think she gave them a real age. Have you seen the way girls dress and look like these days. Not their age. Now obvioulsy I do not condone what these boys did, but maybe the light sentence has to do with the facts surrounding the case. Where her parents were is irrelevant, her inviting 2 boys to her house....not a smart move, again not her fault, she wasn't the adult, but there can be so many factors that we just are not hearing. Stories like this should open some serious dialogue at the dinner table with your children.

Mass Criminal Justice System needs to get their stuff together. Whats going to happen is that people are going to start taking measures in their own hands for JUSTICE.

Read the article. This happened in CONNECTICUT. Not Westford, nor anywhere in Massachusetts.

I love how they added that one of them "hasn't been into any other trouble since" like that's an excuse. So I guess that makes it ok?! Oh ya, he's from Westford.Right...The mentalitly there is even worse than Chelmsford. Oh and the other has a dope charge! SHOCKER! Even more shocking is that that kid is probably on probation and should have had is a$$ thrown in jail the minute he violated it.

Just the opposite: Level Three is the group most likely to re-offend.

We'll never know, but often in this type of case the victim does not want to testify and may be uncooperative with the prosecution. Some prosecutors just drop those charges, others try to make a plea deal to salvage at least something, figuring a few months in the hoosegow is better than just giving them a free pass.
