If you haven't noticed New Llano police have started sitting on Billy Goat Hill turning it into their cash cow since they have expanded their boundaeries!! I am sure Freddie's anxious since it is understood they have a qutoa to meet. Their own accountants have mentioned the low amount of tickets being written as one of the causes for money woes!!!

Every law enforcement agency (City PD, Sheriff Dept, State Troopers) have been given a license to steal from the very citizens they are sworn to serve an protect. I have no problem paying a fair amount for a traffic violation (ticket), but paying two or three hundred dollars for a speeding ticket is stealing money. In this area where a working man/woman makes $10-15 per hour, they are not only stealing from him/her but taking food out of their children's mouth. Vote these thives out of office "NOW",,, Also, look at the price of a parking ticket in Leesville. This Mayor is a "Super Thief".

Speeding tickets range at a median price of $125. That is normal, as is the $50 parking ticket in the city. Of course, these are city prices. Court costs are typically $125 as well. That's not the mayor who sets these prices, you idiot.

Hey SFB, The mayor is the highest elected official in the city. If you don't think he has a say-so you are more stupid than you sound...

Thanks for the post... But these prices have been the same long before mayor rose came to office.

The courts decide the price, based off of the standard set fee which is established by the state. The city cannot just make up there own prices. If you review a louisiana revised statute book, it clearly states the dollar amount of each charge. It even goes into more depth on 1st offense, 2nd offense, 3rd offense, etc.

Again, the mayor has no say so in the matter. That would be considered unconstitutional.

Thanks for the reply.

Have the city limit signs been moved yet? If not then fight a ticket if you get one and have a lawyer present at mayors court.

I agree with alot of stuff you comment on but none of the posts you have put on this topic.
And why blast someone with being an idiot that simply doesnt understand how the setting of fines works? Inform them. Give them facts. Dont just shotgun them with being an idiot.

A sign is not a valid defense. Now if a speed limit sign was the issue, then it would be dismissed. Sounds to me like new llano gettin yo monay!

I'm going to address you the way your friends do: Hey "$hit for Brains." Do you like working your butt off, and when you make a simple mistake (10 miles over the speed limit) you have to give your hard earned money to some elected official. Like I said before, "I don't mind paying a fine but it needs to be fair and reasonable. It is the duty of all citizens to point-out injustice.
