He may be a good man, but flying the flag upside down when it's not an actual distress situation is, in my opinion, disrespectful, and it's kinda like crying wolf. It's like sending an SOS when there's not a real emergency.

Some people feel that our nation is in distress and that we are in a real emergency.

They may feel that way, but they are wrong.

There are rules for flying the American flag. One of those rules is: flying the American flag upside down is a sign of distress. It is recognized as such world-wide. It means that someone is in dire need of assistance.

To fly the flag upside down for any other reason takes away the seriousness of that distress signal.

If I fly it upside down because I think the country is in distress, and you fly it upside down, and your neighbor flies it upside down, and so on, then when someone flies one upside down as a GENUINE distress call, no one will know. We won't be able to tell the genuine distress call from someone who has their panties in a wad and is flying it upside down as a sign of protest.

Flying the flag upside down just because the person you voted for lost the election is NOT a genuine situation of distress. If it were, then every flag owner in the U.S. would, at some point, have a reason to fly the flag upside down.

That is an understatement. The general public has been lulled into semi-conscious state of awareness. It is time to wake up. There is HOPE where there is LIGHT

But 51% of the general public doesn't feel the same way as you do. Face it, you're in the minority when it comes to national politics. As you suggest, you need to wake up and accept reality.

The United States Flag Code stipulates that as the symbol of a living country, the flag is considered in itself a living thing and should be properly displayed and cared for. The code outlines the proper ways to display the American flag.

Raise the flag briskly. Lower it ceremoniously.
Never allow the flag to touch the ground or floor.
Do not fly the flag in bad weather, unless it is an all-weather flag.
The flag can only be flown at night if properly illuminated. Otherwise, it should only be flown from sunrise to sunset.
The flag should always be allowed to fall free.
The flag should never be used to carry, store, or deliver anything.
Never fly the flag upside down except to signal an emergency.

With all due respect, I don't give a damn if he wipe his tail with that flag. Its his flag not mines. I don't give a damn if it fly sideways. I am waiting to see if any flag lovers stop to help the family sending the signal. I would have responded but I didn't know the signal. I thought some kid was pissed cause he had the duty.

And again this person feels He is having an Emergency, I am sure Barry could care less how anyone flys a flag he does not care for the US anyway as do the rest of the free loading voters that placed him back in office.

and again if you have the guts go take it down for the man and tell him the way you feel about it, I am sure he will set you stright.

The invite is also out there if you would like to remove mine by almeans jump on your horse and try.

You, of all people, should understand that in America, there are rules to our freedom, and of all people, you should understand why.

By your reasoning, if I FEEL I'm having an emergency because I can't find my contact lens, it's okay for me to call 911.
If Christina Lord FEELS that stealing a police car is just a prank, then that's okay.
If I FEEL like the American flag would make a nice handkerchief and I choose to blow my nose of it, then that's okay.
And if I FEEL upset because my candidate lost an election, then it's okay for me to disrespect the flag.

Yikes! With people who think like you, this country really is in trouble.

You know what? The American flag that you have never defended isnt your flag. The flag that has waved for you to walk free and generations of my family making it possible for you to do such pisses me off and should many others as well. You are a piece of shit to ever make the statement that that isnt your flag. Get the fuck out of the country if that isnt your flag. Take barry clinton with you too.
