A couple weeks ago we "adopted" a puppy from a "rescue" in New Lexington. To make a long story short, the dog is so sick she almost died. I googled this place and puppymill turned up in the search. Anybody have a similar experience the can e-mail me bnoe1969@hotmail.com

Wagon Wheel Ranch, Donald Dutiel, PUPPYMILL, rampant with Parvovirus, uses different listing locations, but the main line is Perry county area code, New Lexington original prefix, followed by 1 8 1 4 . Advertises as a rescue, has USDA permits, and gets advance warning about ASPCA appearances from authorities. Any of you reading this with the ability or the numbers to help close this place down, we need outside help.

I purchased a puppy from this guy a few years back and like any pet owner I first took the puppy to a vet who found he had parvo, when I called to tell the man the puppy had parvo, and he needed to get the rest of his animals to a vet to keep them from dying his only response was "Well I'm not giving your money back" and then hung up, I never even mentioned a refund. He has been doing this for far to long.

With that many complaints about his neglect that alone is enough to press charges on him, but the humane society is doing nothing about it. I know for a fact they have received over 25 emails, phone calls and letters about the parvo. Rumor has it that Dutiels wife has been attending the humane society meeting and that the humane society is under investigation by the Ohio att. gen. office. If the humane society was going to do something it should have already been done they have enough complaints about neglect. And why can no one come up with a copy of the contract they sign when they buy a puppy from him? This would be good evidence. Anyone who signs a contract is legally allowed to have a copy. I know Dutiel also got into trouble for putting an ad in another counties advertiser wanting people to trap wild ground hogs for him. A wild life officer took one to his home pretending it was for sale and Dutiel got busted, but he still has his premit to breed and sell wildlife as long as it is already in captivity. This whole situation irks me to no end. And it needs to be stopped. Keep complaining to the so called humane society and the county comisssioners even though he was born and raised here and went to shcool with them all, we might get something done. Squeeky wheel gets the oil.
This guy has had some of his rentals shut down by the health dept. Kids falling through floors. He owns over 200 rentals and he is a slum lord as well. I've been inside of a some of his so called rentals. Not fit for anyone. They finally did knock down the big building he had down town about 3 or 4 months ago. The health dept. kept on him and finally won so I know we can too.

My room mate bought a chihuahua pup from Dutiel. While I was out of town, her puppy was diagnosed, and had to be put down. So before I ever even got my new puppy home, I had to find it a new home. Now her property has parvo. I didn't realize it would stay in your soil, so I got ANOTHER new puppy months later. I loved this dog to death, having gotten it two months after I had a miscarriage. I treated Lance, the puppy, like a baby, couldn't find it in my heart to leave him at home, and carried a "diaper bag" around with fresh food and toys for him. I took him to the park, my mom's house and my sisters. Then he got sick. I called my mom and sister. There was no way to contact everyone who had been at the ball park... My room-mate wanted to take me to the hospital on the day Lance died. She was scared to leave me home alone because my anxiety attacks were so bad. My mom was able to save her one-year old mix-breed, by giving it IVs and medicine, etc. I wish *I* could be the one to get pics of Dutiel's horrible puppy mill.

I went there thinking that Dutiel was a breeder to get a puppy. The puppies were up front, it looked like there cages were a little dirty but I thought nothing of it. I didn't see the puppy I wanted so his crazy wife/girlfriend took me around back. And wouldn't you know it? It was a puppy mill.

Dutiel had the puppies 3-4 in rabbit cages, they couldn't even turn around. They were sitting in their on poop. The adult dogs were even worse. Two to three in medium dog cages. They were starving these dogs! These were the breeding dogs, so I don't think they were worried about selling them. One dog was just lying on it's side crying, I could count all the ribs. I actually threw up.

I went with a friend to look for a puppy from a place that was calling itself a rescue. The first thing I noticed was that there were a ton of puppies and the "adoption" fees depended on the puppy. Since I foster dogs for a rescue I told her it wasn't a good idea. All the dog cages were dirty and the place was VERY loud and stunk.

She didn't listen and got the puppy anyway. When she took him to the vet he was diagnosed with kennel cough and had a deformity in his hind legs. He is still alive but has cost her a ton of money in vet bills.

This was Wagon Wheel and I'm sure the guy who sold her the puppy was Dutiel. I'd suggest reporting this to the Ohio SPCA, as I have. You can google the site and click contact us. With this many reports they should have to follow the case.

We went to this place over the summer. There was a dead puppy in the yard and the cages were filled with puppies that were sitting in their own feces. I did not purchase a puppy from him. Especially since the woman there had a casual attitude about the dead puppy in the yard and said, "Oh, we'll clean it up later!" She acted like the puppy's death meant nothing to her and it probably didn't. I am astounded that they have been able to run this puppy mill for so long. I called the dog warden at that time and he said there wasn't much he could do! Those are deplorable conditions for each and every one of these poor animals. I read an ad on craigslist.com about a woman who is planning to get the news involved and pickett this place. I think that all of us should stand together and make that happen and take a stand against Duteil!!!!!!

Hi there I was there probaly a year ago and I had adopted to puppies they were in the garage and there were several other dogs in there as well, also a dog that was about to give birth, they all looked like they were in low spirits and I can understand that, but the other animals were all looking so cold as well as sick and unhappy, I saw the horses that they had and they looked sick they had no hay, straw or grass to walk on it was juat mud, the goats were living in what it look like a dump yard, they had deer in the middle of this muddy cage and another white tail deer in another cage that was also had no straw, hay , ect, there was also an emue, and an artic fox, squirrels, other types of exotic birds and a whole lot of dogs that had some kind of shelter but very muddy and messy just poor conditions! the wolves that they kept were living in a mud hole and were very skinny! I one day went into the place which was an old trailer and there were tons and I mean tons of dogs that were either pregnant or already had puppies! she calims that they would be fixed but the money around there was tight, what I dont understand that if they were a rescue, and he does own most of new lexington, and says hes a big animal lover why does all the animals live in crappy situations and why is he not able to get then neutered or spayed he knows that there are low cost spay and neuter clinics out there, well anyway I did take two puppies from there they wnated me to pay $30 for them each and I said no they looked to sick so he just gave them to me.
