Duck Dodge and Deny Debbie Halvorson was on WLS 890 on the Don and Roma show and she was questioned about her votes and how people are upset that their voices were ignored. In keeping with her short history it sounded as if she was reading a script.

She replied that she feels that she won't be elected in 2010 (51 weeks away) due to her votes. She voted what she felt, NOT what her constituents wanted her to vote.

Every vote she has cast increases taxes and rations health care. She thought the voters in her district were ill-informed and she could not see what the fuss was about.

Then why didn't she stick her face out of her office in August when thousands in Chicago Street demanded it?

It's time throw D-D-D-D-Debbie to the curb.

I am going to research the candidates very carefully - but I do know I will NOT support Halvorson.

This congrassman should be voted out of office. She is the next Majorie Margolis-Mezvinski, who served one term after voting for Clinton's outrageous tax bill in 1994. She voted with Bill and was never heard from again. When we go to Washington in the Fall of 2010, put Debbie's picture on the "wall of shame", of those to be voted out in November 2010. She is "toast", "milktoast". Besideds she stated on the radio yesterday morning she was not looking to be re-elected. She said she didn't care if she was voted out of office, all she was doing was answering the will of her constiuency. If you believe that, there is 1000-2000 page health care bill she wants you to believe she has read.

She also stated on the radio that she doesn't have to work, she likes being a public servant.

THAT (caps intended), is historically the scariest kind of person to have in public office.

They have nothing to do but meddle.

Hardly, ma'am.

I'm just one who's aghast at Dum-dum Debbie's ineptitude and duplicitous ways.

Check out Adam Kinzinger's website and I think you'll be impressed.

I was just curious when I saw the name. He seems like a decent enough guy, but so do all politicians before they get elected. We obviously need a change though. I like the fact that he is young...makes him seem more relevant, but that's just my opinion. I honestly hope he does well. I will back anyone who plans to keep small businesses thriving.

This from today's Herald News:

U.S. Rep. Debbie Halvorson , D-Crete, has been the subject of much discussion this week on the Don Wade & Roma show on WLS-AM after an interview in which the congresswoman was pressed on the possibility of jail time for folks who don't buy health insurance if the current version of health care reform legislation becomes law.
Halvorson spokesman Ryan Vanderbilt said the office has "gotten a few calls" since the interview. But, he said, "The talk about jail time is a gross exaggeration. This is like the talk about death panels."

Vanderbilt acknowledged that a person could be jailed under the legislation but said it's not likely. It's more of a civil matter, he said, like not paying your income taxes: "They try to settle with you."

If it's not going to happen, why write it into law? Seems like a waste of time and effort (and taxpayers money).

"If it's not going to happen, why write it into law?"

Do you have any idea what happens to little things get get stuck at the back of a bill that's eventually enacted into law?

In the hands of bureaucrats and 'czars' they become monsters that'll hurt a helluva lot of people and get dragged through trial lawyers' hands until a court deals with them.

One of the biggest social, educational, and financial disasters to hit this country was forced school busing from the late 60's through the 90's.

It started harmlessly enough but ruined hundreds of communities and turned once-thriving cities into war zones.

Never ever take lightly anything that might get written into law.

I don't take it lightly...My point is Halverson's damage control brigade comes out and basically tells us not toworry. Just because it's in the law, it won't be used. Famous last words,"I'm a politician...you can trust me!" If it's won't be used, it doesn't belong in the law. Even if it would be used, it doesn't belong in law, but for a politician to say just because it's in the law you don't need to worry, makes me extremely worried.

I will be first in line to vote her out, and any other wacked-out libs who think the One is sitting in DC. They are absolutely clueless about economics, other than taxing and growing government and giving money to their friends.

Don't forget why Halvorson won in the first place. It was the disgusting mishandling by the Republican Party of their pool of candidates.

Baldermann was an awful choice to start with, and then they nominate a concrete guy who donated to Blago for "face time." We've had enough pay to play politics, but Halvorson was certainly not a good choice either.

The local Republican Party members, including Kavanagh, failed and should not be involved in selecting OUR representatives ever. It's much like the NY-23 race. Baldermann is a RINO and had baggage. Ozinga thought money could buy him a seat.

Kavanagh and crew are Will County/New Lenox based, and had strong ties with our stripper-loving mayor. The Republican Party has had an incredible impact in raising our taxes and giving sweetheart deals to developers and friends. Combine, anyone?

The local Republicans, including why Mikan lost, was to use the line: "we didn't raise your taxes" (referring to the tax rate), but played us for stupid by raising assessments and tax bills were going up 8-10% annually.

That's why they lost. They did not have conservative values; rather they followed the clubhouse rules, much like NY-23.

One more thing - we need a recall provision for all elected officials. No more candidates running on a phony platform to get elected, and then voting contrary to what was promised to constituents. Conservatives in #11 need to get involved in the Republican Party to prevent further it from failing yet again. The committeemen involved in the last election need to be OUT of the process.

Even the mighty New Lenox Patriot ripped into her today!

Now she's REALLY in trouble. She may win no precincts in New Lenox in 2010. I believe that she took four last year.

My error. It was Obama who only 3 NL precincts (#1, 5, and 13).

HalVOrson got voters to drink the Kool-Aid in 26 of the 30 precincts.

It ain't a gonna be that way in 2010. HalVOrson is DOA even now.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
